Hi all, this forum has been a god send for alot of my friends trying to get this game to work.
I have a different problem. Im trying to get it to work on a laptop and the program looks like it works but i cant get the screen to show the whole game, and i cant scroll the screen either.
Please help

Is your laptop screen capable of displaying 1024 X 768 at a minimum? Sounds like you only have 800 X 600 resolution.

Thankyou very much for the reply. My laptop is capable of displaying 1600 by 1200 in the settings option, but if i change up from the 800 by 600 that im on i get the same problem, the screen doesnt display everything that should be there, however i can scroll it around.
Is there anyway of making the screen fit everything on, i dont mind if its really small.
Im running an acer travelmate 521iT, and i havnt had problems with any other game

Well, I have a Toshiba Satellite, k6-II, Win98 and I can't run either. After installing, I run civ3 and screen comes to black. I've already changed resolution at configuration files to 800x600, but it won't work.
Have you tried that ?

You may want to see what your monitor is showing up as in your Device Manager. If it is a 'Default Monitor' or 'Plug and Play Monitor' then you probably want to change it. Double click on it, go to the driver tab, then update driver. Then, choose from a list, specify a location and it should bring up a list of available drivers. Make sure that 'show compatible hardware' is unchecked. Then, on the left side choose 'Standard monitor types', and on the right side choose one that says something with 1024x768, i.e. 'Laptop Display 1024 x 768' or 'Super VGA 102 x768 @ 75-hz'. Then, once you've changed it, try changing your desktop res to 1024 x 768 and see how it looks.
