Hi,

I am looking at getting a new laptop so I can play Civ6 without much loss of performance, and am confused with the specs around the graphics card. It looks like from graphics card comparissons that the graphics might be too small.

ASUS ROG GL552VW-DM210T LAPTOP INTEL I7 6700HQ 15.6" FHD 1920X1080

16GB RAM 128GB SSD 1TB HDD 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX960M BLURAY COMBO WIN10

Any advice on what kind of performance this would give playing the game me will be much appreciated. Thanks

I have G551JW Asus with GTX 960M 4GB and am playing on mix of medium and high settings on 1920x1080.

MSAA 4x
Shadow resolution 4092x4092
Medium terrain (perm. optimized)
High resolution geometry OFF
Ambient occlusion resolution 1024x1024
Leader quality medium
Everything else maxed.

Gives around 50% performance boost over maxed settings.

Thanks, could you elaborate a bit please. Have you played late game? Do you experience lags when panning on the map, or any other performance losses? What about going to next turn, does that take exceptionally long?

Also, did you try with high settings? If so, what did you experience, any lags or slow downs?

thanks,
Tom

There is benchmark tool with the game that simulates it (I only got up to renaissance area for now). It was giving around 25fps on more demanding ares with the settings above. And only around 15fps, if everything maxed. In earlier game, frame rate is double of that.

As for turn times, there were acceptable in my case (standard map, 6 civs).
