I do think the pacing of the era jumping when you finish legacies really skews with your mind. For example, I was going through my antiquity, getting to about 68% with the first one or two on most trees done.
And I think this just messes with you, because when my game is 105 or 110 turns into antiquity and I'm at 68%, my brain wants to think we're getting at least another 35 or 40 turns? The math says more, but since you tend to finish the legacies almost in a cluster, the reality is that I probably am already at 20 turns left in the age.
They did say they were going to significantly rework and even experiment with legacy paths. I have been in the "ignore legacy paths" camp (I mean, I do the actions in them just don't aim for completion or the score per se) for so long I've kind of neglected the fact that they are the driver of the age cadence. Now it's finally clicked again why railroaded legacy paths suck the oxygen out of anything else you're doing. That is one thing that would probably help…instead of adding 10 age progression all at once, have age progression move at double speed for 10 turns (and if you finish another legacy, it keeps moving at double speed for an additional 10 turns)
Yeah they need to fix this. It's still sad to have three self-contained mini games though.
