Sorry to see that you're having problems with the game. If you haven't already done so, the two best ways to avoid crashes are:
(1) Make sure that your system meets the official system requirements, and
(2) Make sure that your video drivers are up-to-date. See my sig for links for the most common cards. If you have an nVidia card, they just released a new driver that helped my system a lot.
If this doesn't help, then please post a save file from right before the crash, a description of what you do that causes the crash, and a copy of your DxDiag file.
