I was just wondering... could the multiple chinese leaders be a way to give us multiple "chinese civs" while still placating a certain autocratic state?
Probably give a player to play each Chinese Dynasty.
Qin-Qin Dynasty.
wu zetian- Tang Dynasty
kublai-Yuan Dynasty
Yongle- Ming Dynasty.
Too bad Han and Qing isn't available.

His outfit looks much more textured and less bland than it did on the initial preview.

The most frustrating thing is that there isn't even a cryptic text that could make us guess what his abilities might be. Nothing about their achievments that would inspire their abilities, nothing about the place they might have. Just: THE YONGLE EMPEROR

Frankly, I start to feel sick with this shame of a marketing. I feel I better cut myself from Civ entirely until April. I'd have less frustration.

Why does this bother you so much? You'll know everything in 2-3 days. None of this is so important that it should be causing so much stress and frustration.

Y'all need to chill out.

On the plus side, at least he's not in Persia anymore. :)

Shouldn't the text be for the video anyway? Is there going to even be a video today because it's MLK today in the states?

wait if thats the forbidden city, then i have to wonder, how many other leaders have wonders in their background paintings? because it gave me an idea... i think whenever i have this guy in my game as an AI, ill try and make a point of building the diplomatic quarter behind (so, northeast) of the forbidden city so that i can imagine im forcing him to hold all his diplomatic meetings in my lands. idk that just feels pretty funny

edit: oh duh, theres the pyramids way in the back of cleopatras painting. id prolly abstract that to 3-4 tiles away i think

I find the spotlight videos annoying because they're empty from a gameplay perspective, and I get a YouTube notification from them. I could simply turn those off, but then I wouldn't be notified about the good videos

The majority of the resources put into this leader pack surely went to the new art assets, though. I can't imagine that building the new leader bonuses from existing scripts was nearly as much work as the new models, voice overs, and backgrounds.

So, it makes sense that Firaxis wants to show off the art before distracting us with the gameplay bonuses.

Suleiman (The Lawgiver) also has Hagia Sophia in his background. But that's also not originally Ottoman. :shifty:

Didn't yesterday's come at 2pm EST?
I didn't know if the video came at a different time than the artwork, or not.

from what i recall yesterdays video came around 2pm est, maaayyyybe a few minutes early, and the one before that was at the same time. so we should get to see Yongle's animations and provisional jersey colors and hear his voice in a half an hour

Seeing the disastrous clipping of Yongle's beard into his own chest, I'm kind of scared if that's the things they're the proudest of. If those models are the main and most worked features of the Leaders of China pack, I begin to fear what the abilities will be...

Overall the models and animations have been pretty good, but I think that's some of the sloppiest clipping I've seen in Civ6. You expect that kind of thing in a big game where everyone uses the same skeleton and no unique animations, but clipping that obvious and prominent shouldn't be happening with a custom model with a custom skeleton and animations.

to be completely fair i think personally the state of hair on leaders has been hit-and-miss since at least simon bolivar, and i dont mind toooo much. sure the beard clipping is ugly when noticed but the rest of the model looks great, esp the texturing on the clothes. but yeah, im still concerned abt the abilities coming out well. not very confidence inspiring when they cant show us what the bonuses are until theyre basically already out

And even when they're revealed it might happen that it's actually not what they announced first. Remember Julias Caesar's additional Military Policy card slot when conquering its first capital, or Mbande Nzinga's ability toward trade routes much more engaging that the watered down Lady Six Skies?

I may be blind, but I see no beard clipping into chest? There is a distance between where the beard ends and the chest starts, as indicated by the shadow behind the beard.
