I don't think we should rule out a patch/hotfix. I haven't played it yet, so I don't know, but if this music thing is a common issue, it'll totally get fixed.

They're done with content, but I'm sure they wanna leave the game in great condition.

I'd settle for one working and vaguely balanced game mode.

On the stream, they said that the modifiers apply multiplicatively so that the final cost is 1 * 0.25 * 0.5 = 12.5%.

Technically those are all wrong.

Roman numerals should all be capitalized throughout. It's not "Ramses Ii" or "Jayavarman Vii" after all.

But wierdly Elizabeth I has another glitch mentioned here in the topic, that is all letters are of the same height. Varangian Harald and Age of Steam Victoria is ok.

Assuming that's the case, there's still the matter of having to wait up to a year for things to get addressed, as has been the case in the past, which by itself is an issue. Though it seems only some people are complaining about the sound issue...

@pokiehl Would the asset limit bug affect audio files?

@MrRadar @OmegaDestroyer @Kupe Navigator Which settings are you using in your games? Which Civ were you playing as (maybe it's a bug specific to one of the new leaders)? Also Map Size, amount of Civs, etc. Any Mods? Just wondering if there's a pattern.

To be fair mine was a previously saved game before the update playing as Sejong Korea. Maybe I should start a new game to see if it is still the case

Mine was a new game with Yongle, on a standard size and speed fractal map, no modes. The soundtrack started playing upon settling, then I got distracted to realize later that I was only hearing ambient sounds. Quite possible that it was only one track that was played.
Modwise, my usual collection of UI-only mods.

The last update made the ingame music silent. Only at the start the usual music track for that civ play once, but after that the music is silent. The sound effects are still there though.

Yeah, we only get fast patches then the CCP demands them.

Hopefully, this music bug is sorted rather quickly, though. While they're at it, maybe they can fix the bug that causes the Vietnamese music to never stop playing, even when I go back to the main menu and start a new game.

doubt it. Remember natural disasters not showing up if you restart bug? That continued till LP! When that has been a thing at the end of NFP!

Why did it happen in the first place? And considering their past history of taking EONS for a bug fix... sorry if I am doubtful that this will be fixed this year if EVER!

No patch notes have been released at this time, though the change in the game version number indicates that there have been some updates.

So this time no notes.

Firaxis+2K have really questionable engineering and dev practices. (In comparison Amplitude have shipped detailed patch notes for HUMANKIND for every update).

E.g: For Marvel's Midnight Suns just released Morbius DLC, one of the unscripted remarks he makes whilst exploring the Abbey is "What's it like to have a tan?". For a black person this is triggering.
I'm surprised in this age of "woke" they had this as dialogue.

Anyway, I post a feedback ticket at 2K.
They close the ticket and continue discussion on another ticket I'd opened re: Steam achievements not unlocking for Morbius.
They are two separate issues. One's a bug, the other feedback on inappropriate dialogue/script. 2K support replied saying it's their policy for tech support to merge the tickets
