Leaderhead Database and Request thread

Imagine if the Zulu had been able to sail to Olmec-land... it'd be Hernan Cortes all over again!

There is absolutely NO evidence for Olmecs being black, and a mountain of evidence for them being Mesoamerican. Assigning credit to other civilizations for indigenous accomplishments is wrong and immoral, whether Eurocentric, Afrocentric, or Sinocentric.

I don't know that its necessarily immoral, depending on how its done and the basis for doing it, but I do agree that the Olmecs were (most likely) not black Africans. There is a case to be made though that some of their statues and art reflect people who have African characteristics. There is a possibility that black Africans may have been able to reach their shores though. But having said that, I do agree that there is not really any evidence that they were black themselves. The statues are interesting though, and in my mind do seem to have black African characteristics.

For example...

Can anyone clue me in a Theodore Roosevelt leaderhead????Dave

Thank you...It would be greatly appreciated...Dave

One prob...You are dealing with a paragon of profound stupidity on this end...WHERE is it?

If that is so much of an issue, then an animated stone head would do just as nicely, if someone is willing to do it, of course.

I was going to put up a link here, but then I realized you should probably learn what/where the database is and how to use it. Click on the link that says "downloads" in the menu underneath the CFC logo. Once you are there the newer files should be on the left. Otherwise click on the appropriate category for what you want (in this case Civ4-Leaderheads) and there you go.

I figured it out before I got your reply..One problem though, something has to be the matter with the language...he doesn't show up, the xml it seems to be shorter than the other leaderheads????????BTW, thanks for nurturing and aiding a moron....Dave :-)

The Capo, Located your guide (Which is excellent) and realize I must change other things as well. I do have one additional question. I want to have him appear as Teddy Roosevelt or Theodore Roosevelt in the game itself....and not TeddyR as in the file. Where and how do I do that? I appreciate your patience with a slow old boy from WV...I didn't get my 1st pair of shoes until I was 33 and my 1st pair of underwear til' I was 37....I appreciate your patience and understanding. For a novice, this stuff is like programming an ICBM using a 1st grade math book...Dave

Did you follow Wolfshanze's tutorial in my thread?

When you see ART_DEF_LEADER_TEDDYR that has nothing to do with what is going to show up in the game other than directing the XML to his art files. You could put ART_DEF_LEADER_SHITHEAD and it won't matter as long as the file addresses are correct. Its in the gametext where you put his name in. Follow the tutorials, all the information you need is there.

The XML is only for the art, the rest of the XML you have to do on your own. I have never used this LH before at all, I just had it lying around, so I have no idea what personality or whatever to give him. That's up to you. If you don't know how to do this follow a tutorial, there are plenty of them around and I even posted one in my leaderhead gallery for quick referencing.

Appreciated....I am applying myself to the task...Dave

THE CAPO,I have it installed...but, I have 2 probs...I get a pink button in civilopedia and a pink button instead of his pic in American Leaders??? I have a civilopedia prob but, I had it working once...so, I should get it right again. Dave

Hi, for my Dutch East Indies mod I could use a leaderhead of Jan Pietersz Coen. Here's a picture:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads/jan_pieterszoon_coen_8kH.jpg

Willem van Oranje has the right face, only his hair ought to be shorter and a different color (more blond) and his hat should be removed. The beard has a good shape already, but again it needs to be more blond.
The collar is right, only his clothing should be different, something like in the picture: red with gold prints would be nice.
Backgroundpicture doesn't really matter. Neither does the animation. ;)
