Leave Them Without Life - A Dwarf Fortress Community Fortress

So How long until I recover (if i recover)

You're still in a coma, but it could be worse. I say give it a year or three.

I tossed a kitten and two cows down one of the four story holes in the cross hubs. None of them died the first time, so I had to do it twice. The kitten broke all it's bones so I dropped it again.

Why the hell?

Update VI: Goblin Ambush and Sad Kittens

Fall came and with it the large dwarven caravan. As we made our trades and talked over business with our comrades from back in the mountainhome, we were ambushed by some goblin pikemen and baby snatchers. Ninja_Dude shot one such pikeman in the face at point blank range with his crossbow, before running away and hiding. The caravan's guards did the rest of the work that our traps didn't. The bloody slaughter was amazing and we gained plenty of iron armor from these little green bastards.

The best news of this day was not our massive purchase of booze, nor our victory, but our capture of a goblin baby snatcher. These little menaces to society are born to suffer at our hands and that is something we will do. Preparations for the fighting chamber have begun. Vertinari will be the chosen champion to rip his eyes out and leave him without life.

While the room is prepped on the upper floors of the tower, I checked in on our injured friend Churchill, he is improving and his wounds on his arm are less disgusting now. He should be well before next spring if all goes well. His wonderful war dog, Winston, always by his side.

Back in the room of death, Vertinari stares down his prey inside the cage. The lever is hooked up and the following took place as a peasant pulled the lever letting the goblin loose. The resulting battle was a raping.

Vertinari took no damage, he wrestled the goblin in the nude with only a pair of bone leggings and a bone helm on his body. He ripped the digits off the hand of the goblin and punched his face over and over until he bled to death. It was a great training exercise.

The entire fortress was drawn to a newborn kitten who was fighting a lizard, when the lizard stopped playing he cried, so did everyone else.

Weee Goblin death! Gold his skull and place it above our door to ward of those who would attack us.

As the Animal Caretaker I have to file a mild complaint about such behaviour.

btw. Have I done anything yet? Trained fearsome war dogs to fight the wolves???

I can do that if you want, I think we could order some new dogs from the caravan and train a few war dogs and a few hunting ones.

Moar Goblin Death!

As you wish...

Good old goblin bashing. Next goblin please or anyone else for that matter? On another note I demand a pair of trousers! How can a champion wrestler go around with no trousers?! By that I mean trousers not bone greaves.

Imtimidation. Hey, it worked for the highlanders. The highland charge when it was used properly (no underwear, big floppy kilts, running DOWN HILL at the enemy, screaming and yelling, preferably a bit drunk, worked quite well, didn't always win the battle but initially it helped).

Dwarf Fortress community fortress? How the heck would I miss that?
Throw me in as Hammerdwarf or any other military dwarf, if there's no Hammerdorfs.

Update tonight is going to be juicy. Two goblin ambushes and Charles_Li got shot through the hand and arm.

Charles_Li Goaned, "F*** Gobs!" he yelled.

"Darn Recording! I'm going to hew gob heads in my spare time!"

Hefty hefty!

Update VII: Ambush City

It's caravan season and that brings unwanted guests. Hordes of goblins come as our population reaches seventy-three. Oyur leader, Charles_Li was atop the mountain, grabbing a rock to be used in a construction for the tower, when he was attacked by crossbow goblins.

He was shot several times, but escaped thankfully with only minor injuries to his spine. Something that will cause back pain forever, a good reason to finally retire him from everything other than record keeping and speaking.

As he ran, the goblins followed him, right into the arms of our champion wrestling squad led by Vertinari.

The goblins were broken and dead within minutes. The sheer speed and strength of our champions was to much. Eye witnesses saw Vertinari push bolts from the air as they were fired at him, and it is also rumored that he ripped the brain out of a goblins skull with one hand.

Similarly to the west of the tower came another ambush, this time of mace and axe goblins with a few baby snatchers. The wrestlers turned and charged at them, meeting just before they reached the front entrance. Tearing them limb from limb and drinking the blood of the fallen goblins.

We did not go without injury however, and one of our squad members is in shock with cuts to his spleen, kidneys and liver. He refuses to rest and wants to wait for more goblins. It is under our concern that he will hopefully find a bed and rest his injuries until he is needed again.

These attacks showed our need for a better defensive entrance, so our mechanic, Scamp, will begin making the bridge retractable first thing in the morning.

Totally heroically awesome. I salute the brave heroic dwarves :salute:

I like the new graphics too, as a non-initiate I can understand more of what I am seeing!

@Lucky, If you would like any more forumer sponsorship, I would like to have a dwarf named after me :) Preferably something to do with healing or working with animals, or failing that some kind of artisan or crafts-dwarf... But I won't hesitate to fight for our fortress if given the chance!
