Less city states better resource placement

So I recently played a hotseat game withouth city states and a game with only a few.

I noticed that the Iron distribution on the map was better Olmost every player had a source of iron some had a lot of some had medium and other a few but I thinx all of the persons got some iron



Does anybody else noticed this?

Although I dont play Hotseat, when I play without the set number of CS (1 is a favorite for me) I find that there is a lot more lux resources all over the map.

And that I dont get in a lot of pointless wars >.>

yea diplomacy seams to work better at larger maps or standard maps with less city states
