Let's recommend some prog rock

I personally find prog rock and most other kinds of proggy music far too longwinded, boring, and uninspiring. However I do most enjoy the solo works of Jordan Rudess, the keyboardist of Dream Theater, although alone his music may be to sedimentary to be called prog rock.

Mastodon has a heavily progressive slant to their typically sludgey work- the last album, if anything, is prog first and sludge second- while their fellow Georgians Baroness offer a more traditionally proggy fare.
