I had a great civ 5 game going today and what I
Really enjoyed the most was the updated maritime aspect of exploration. I'm a colonization fanatic so the idea of sailing the seas for leisure and persuit of unknown territory really appealed to me. I built a caravel today and took to the open water and found 3 natural wonders, 2 city states and other luxury items not found on the terrain. I also sunk barbarian ships and bombarded settlements. I had a great time! :)
Will definitely play the island map tomorrow to enhance this feature.
Just wondering if anybody else was enjoying this aspect of the game too? Would love to hear about your experiences.

Yes, the naval aspect of V is brilliant. I recently had a great archipelago map as india. I had an amazing economy but almost no military. Persia dow'd me because I'd settled on two islands near him, and thanks to a tech advantage and rushing out a navy, I managed to hold him off, turn the tide, and take two of his cities. In IV, a navy would have been a waste of time.

And I really love prowling the seas for new city states. It really makes me feel like I'm searching for new civilizations.
