Some of the members of our group for the Let's Vox Populi! game have lost interest thus spots are open. We'll be using https://www.playyourdamnturn.com/. It is a play-by-email/hotseat style complete your turn, send it to another player, and so on and so on style application. So the game will be going a long time. Be prepared to commit to that.

At the moment it looks like a maximum of 8 spots are open (3 of the 4 remaining players have decided to allow more than 8 players). Anything beyond this, you can be a substitute in case someone later loses interest. Anyone can join, or if you already were a member of the group at some point just re-announce your interest. Priority goes to whoever joins the game below quickest.

Edit: I also need to add that there is no guarantee this thing isn't going to sputter and crash thanks to glitches occurring and breaking the game. Be prepared to accept that may be the outcome.

-If you are a part of over 100 servers you apparently have to remove one before joining another.

-Another possibility: Your code is invalid – Check that you have copied the correct invite code, these are case sensitive.

Ok, as it is now Nov. 16th, applications to join the game are now closed. KittyKat3120, you have until 9:00PM Nov.16th to join the game on playyourdamnturn.com. You can request an extension before 9PM and/or ask for assistance on the discord problem but if I don't hear from you by 9PM we will begin without you and you can join the next game assuming things go well or if we want to do a second attempt.

Eh... I know I'm contradicting what I said yesterday with this but... since we've got the 9PM ET deadline for KittyKat3120, and they haven't responded yet, you can join so long as you do so before 9PM. If not, you can join the next one if there is one. The important thing is to join the playyourdamnturn game, the discord channel is optional.

Ok so um... the thing glitched on the first turn with Amask having a prebuilt capital. It's been fixed but we've needed to start another game.

You need to put this in your DLC folder in civ5/Assets/DLC. Then you need to take out/delete the UI and UIVP folders that were already in the DLC folder. After that see if doing a singleplayer non-modded game gives you VP. If it does, great, it worked! If not, ask me and I can try to help.

Five of us are back, once Slyceth rejoins we'll continue our second attempt. We had Ancient Wonders turned on when playyourdamnturn specifically had a list of allowed DLC and AW was not one of them. Horseshoehermit was skeptical that AW would break the game when we tested it earlier on and I had it turned off. I agreed so I turned it on this time. Apparently we were wrong.* Amask had a prebuilt capital and when we did a quick 2 person test without AW it was back to normal. So we're on to attempt 2 now. Fingers crossed!

Testing if the game works in singleplayer with the modpack at least will give us a start for figuring this out, so I recommend giving that a try at some point.

A few things to doublecheck though:

-Were the UI and VPUI files from the DLC folder removed?

-Was the Modpack unzipped?

-Is the Modpack titled "ZMPMODPACK"?

-Is the Modpack in the DLC folder?

-Also when you load up civ v, check your task manager. There may be up to 3 copies of 'qtbeginprocess' which can jack up your CPU, which can cause a crash. If you see them, delete them (end task for them).*

*If the game loaded up to the black screen with the 'player N' and 'country W' (Poland) and then crashed shortly afterwards I'm betting this is most likely the problem. The 'qtbeginprocess' glitch puts way too much strain on the game. I'm pretty sure we'll be good if you can try hotseat again after making sure there's no 'qtbeginprocess' in the main menu. If not, we'll keep looking.

**Edit: If you choose not to use this method, that's fine but you're going to have to check task manager every time you boot up civ to make sure 'qtbeginprocess' hasn't activated. Rarely it can even hide itself until you try closing civ v. If you see that civ v is, according to steam, still running, but you know you closed it, check task manager and you should find the stray 'qtbeginprocess'. Once that's disabled steam should say civ v has stopped running.***

***...Personally I was too lazy to bother getting the old launcher, so I just check task manager whenever I load up civ and I'm good.

Edit: On another note, it turns out the problem in the first game was not Ancient Wonders. If you deselect the password screen for hotseat the game assumes you're actually playing and any hotkeys typed for the password will be treated as actual commands. I think that's how Amask explained it, but might be off. So don't click off the password until you're ready to press 'Continue!'

We're on turn 52. So it's been roughly a month since start but we've recently gotten faster with our turns, going from 1 turn a day to now doing 2 turns a day usually. We also tried meeting up to speedrun a few turns which has had mixed results (mainly a matter of non-clarity from me and confusion on starting time) but if we try that again soon I'm sure it'll go well, it did once before.

A full game, at the rate we've been playing will be roughly 8-9 more months. That's if we went to 500 turns though... fairly unlikely. It's hard to be certain, but I'm going to estimate between 8-14 months. Any players getting killed is going to speed up the process. Any player who becomes clearly dominant and convinces everyone else to give up is also going to speed it up.

Of course, we're on a Pangaea map in a circle, essentially... any player outright killing another player is likely not going to be taken kindly by the other 5... or at least probably won't happen for a while.

Edit: If we somehow kept up the 2 turns a day pace the entire time, it could theoretically go down to 4 more months at best... I consider that highly unlikely but we'll see how it goes.
