You guys still are not getting the point. Both Dems and Republicans are too blame. Neither of the two clowns running for Prez even know how we got here, much less how to get us out. So we can only look at who can possibly lead us through the coming turbulence and who will undoubtly ruin the economy. The answer is easy, Barrack Hussein Obamas' plan to tax the hell out of small business and raise Social Security taxes. As less money is spent by the work horse of our economy than less revenues will be collected. Nationalizing healthcare means a vast increase in spending while revenues will be shrinking. No one can deny he has even more massive new spending projects in store.
The alternative is John McCain who will not step in day one rank and file with the Fringe left Congress leadership. He will cut spending and veto earmarks. He will give us a fighting chance by holding these people accountable for how they spend our money. The economy will liquidate itself and we have some hard economic times coming. There will be no money for Obamas' utopian society. I want the leader that has been tested under fire and can keep the will of the American people strong during these times, not one who will whine about how his party thinks we got into the mess. All the while our enemies are becoming ever more bold and influential.

wait, jeff, r u really serious about mother jones?...u R joking right...."Mother Jones is well respected for people with a clue"...... (there's that qualifier of course, only people that agree with this trash truly have a clue....is that what u r saying?...REALLY?...u may be giving yourself away....;))

no agenda at this website....

i truly apologize, i did not realize the depths of your delusions.....and yet, i feel greatly comforted in that the vast majority of americans are well to the right of your views...phew....

u r absolutely correct sir!

hey, click into that mother jones site it is hilarious how unbiasied it is....:lol::lol::lol:

Barack is not going to raise Social Security taxes. He will, however, raise the threshold on which Social Security taxes are collected. You will pay more if you make over $102,000 per year. Do you make over $102,000 per year?

Cheers,

Neither of the two clowns running for Prez even know how we got here, much less how to get us out.

You're calling McCain a clown?

...John McCain who will not step in day one rank and file with the Fringe left Congress leadership. He will cut spending and veto earmarks. He will give us a fighting chance by holding these people accountable for how they spend our money. The economy will liquidate itself and we have some hard economic times coming. There will be no money for Obamas' utopian society. You're calling McCain a clown and a maverick who will solve the US' issues of today and battle the anti-American conspiracy. Very convincing. I understand your anti-Obama bias, but leave other people free to draw their own conclusions. (BTW, an economy that liquidates itself is dead.)

McCain has 177 lobbyists working for his campaign. He even has lobbyists working for The Financial Services Roundtable who are also working for his campaign. These lobbyists work for Wall Street investment banks, and are currently lobbying Congress to get favorable terms for these banks in this "bailout."

Despite these facts, McCain has the nerve to go around saying he's going to take on lobbyists. He even has the audacity to attack Obama for hiring a former Fannie Mae lobbyist to vet his veep pick when his veep vetter Arthur Culvahouse currently works for Fannie Mae. McCain's transition chief William Timmons Sr. works for Freddie Mac.

Here is another great article from Mother Jones that lists all the lobbyists currently working for the McCain campaign, and a quote from that article.

http://www.motherjones.com/mojoblog...ccain_campaign_lobbyists_wall_street_aig.html

"Of those 177 lobbyists, according to a Mother Jones review of Senate and House records, at least 83 have in recent years lobbied for the financial industry McCain now attacks. These are high-paid influence-peddlers who have been working the corridors of the nation's capital to win favors and special treatment for investment banks, securities firms, hedge funds, accounting outfits, and insurance companies. Their clients have included AIG, the newest symbol of corporate excess; Lehman Brothers, which filed for bankruptcy on Monday sending the stock market into a tailspin; Merrill Lynch, which was bought out by Bank of America this week; and Washington Mutual, the banking giant that could be the next to fall. Among these 83 lobbyists are McCain's chief political adviser, Charlie Black (JP Morgan, Washington Mutual Bank, Freddie Mac, Mortgage Bankers Association of America); McCain's national finance co-chairman, Wayne Berman (AIG, Blackstone, Credit Suisse, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac); the campaign's congressional liaison, John Green (Carlyle Group, Citigroup, Icahn Associates, Fannie Mae); McCain's veep vetter, Arthur Culvahouse (Fannie Mae); and McCain's transition planning chief, William Timmons Sr. (Citigroup, Freddie Mac, Vanguard Group)."

Regardless of Bernie's uninformed opinion, this article is well researched, and written by well respected journalists. Mother Jones is the most widely read progressive magazine in the U.S., and it has received many awards for excellence in reporting; this is yet another case of excellent reporting.

Bernie, your boy Bush's approval rating is now 19%, so you're just about the last fly on that terd. Your grandiose delusions aren't representative of how most Americans feel. We'll see who is right come November 4th.

John Two Face McSame is wimping out of the next debate and suspending his disastrous, licentious, misguided campaign just as he has fallen ten points behind in the national polls and is losing ground in key battleground states. McSame can't walk and chew gum at the same time? What else would he "postpone" or "suspend" because of a crisis if he were president? Would the entire government have to screech to a halt because he needs a break. Why is he going to "Warshington," is he going to ride in and save the day. This is a cheap, transparent political ploy meant to save a floundering campaign; an act of sheer desperation. McCain is trying to swoop in and somehow take credit for something he'll do more to impede by showing up. All this, after Obama called McCain and asked for a joint statement during this crisis, then Two Face predictably stabbed him in the back and tried to pull a fast one. Obama will be at the debate Friday, if McCain backs out, he is a coward.

Palin represents something more sinister than just an empty suit. She is America's version of Dmitry Medvedev in Russia. She is repeating all the same lies Bush has spewed out over the years. She is a Trojan horse. If she ends up running the country, the same cabal that has led this eight year long national nightmare will simply continue on with a new weak figure head. Here is an article spelling out this threat, entitled The Battle Plan Two, Sarah "Evita" Palin, The Muse of the Coming Police State.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/naomi-wolf/the-battle-plan-ii-sarah_b_128393.html

Oh my god, did Palin make an idiot of herself in her latest interview on CBS. Katie Couric asked her for specific examples of when McCain has stood up for Wall Street regulation, she gave a pageant answer so Couric repeated the question. Palin actually said "I'll have to look into it, I'll get back to ya." Is she kidding, she has no idea what she is talking about. Bernie, you could have answered the question better. I'll post the video.

John Two Face McSame is wimping out of the next debate and suspending his... campaign

Yeah this time McCain has gone to far, IMO... It's the candidates duty & responsibility to have the presidential debates, and he could even travel back & forth by airplane.

However, there is nothing either candidate could do in Washington but distract and probably cause the financial crisis resolution to lose focus. The issue is so complex but Bernake estimates 14 trillion at stake and the whole 780B is needed at once. Alternatives such as funding in 'clumps' to see if its working 1st apparently isn't an option.

IMO it's a bad move by McCain and looks like an effort to buy time for Palin but I could be wrong. I actually agree w BO this time and think he is right by saying the 'show must go on.'

jeff, first mother jones and now huffington post?...darn, if that is the case, i would rather be uninformed than misinformed ;).....seriously now, quoting form leftist sites hurts your cause more than it helps....u lose credibility.....

now, i invite all, liberals, conservatives and moderates to take THIS quiz.... if u r a true liberal, i'm sure u will still vote obama, but for those who have just been swept up in the misinformation of pretty words...u will learn some realities about obama's positions....

the debates will happen whether they start in 2 days or next week, big deal.... i could argue that obama is putting his bs talk and politics ahead of matters of real importance to the country, but i think that would be as ridiculous, silly and partisan as calling mccain "a coward".....

jeff, u r wrong as usual, this time about the terd's approval rating....maybe u should look for REAL INFORMATION instead of slumming in those "please brainwash me" sites.....and that is still about 10% higher than the approval ratings for the democratic, do-nothing, obama has voted 97% of the time with his radical chronies congress...:lol:....obama has TALKED compromise, he has TALKED change, he has TALKED unity, but has only SHOWN leftist/socialist democratic party politics as usual....i'm tired of bo's bs......

and yes jeff, maybe i could have helped palin in her interview, maybe u could have whispered in biden's ear...."fdr was not the president at the time of the depression and tvs were not invented yet"......

it is intersting to analyze the "types" of mistakes that were made by both veeps....palin made an error of "omission" that is, she did not have the information, and said...."i'll get back to ya".....biden made an error of "commission" he assumed he was right when in fact, he was just making something up.....it seems by my observation that many democrats do the same thing.....psychologically speaking, errors of commission r characteristic of the immature (children) and insecure (neurotic).....

Bernie, your arguments are now based more in pitiful insults than making any actual points. Just because you don't like a source doesn't make it any less true. Bush's approval rating is 19%, according to this poll from the American Research Group, if that source is okay with you:

http://americanresearchgroup.com/economy/

Not that I'd sink to your level and rub it in with ridiculous smilies, but you're wrong again.

The debate will happen Friday, whether Two Face shows up or not. The debate commission has already made this ruling. What, should we postpone the election too because of this crisis, or really, because the republicans aren't going to win. Anyone with half a brain can see this is a ridiculous political ploy, why wasn't McSame worried about swooping in and playing the savior last week when he was saying "the fundamentals of the economy are strong." The debate commission is not going to change the dates of either the presidential or VP debates because McSame-Failin aren't ready and want to back out like cowards:

Anybody who wants "realities" on Obama's positions can go to his website here, rather than taking some ******ed quiz:

It pains me to see how really clueless you are. I understand, because there is an huge campaign to feed you all of this nonsense so you don't wake up.

I do agree with you on one thing. Both parties are to blame. The Repubs for allowing themselves to be hijacked by an aspiring corporatocracy, and the Dems for not having the guts to take them on.

The whole cut taxes on the wealthy has NEVER worked to bring broadly shared prosperity. EVER. In the history of the world. It simply creates a bubble economy (for example, check out 1981-present, 1920-1932). To create widely shared prosperity and a strong middle class, you tax the snot out of the extremely wealthy (say... 90%, or even 70%, of all income over $2 million) and cut taxes on the vast number middle and lower class people. You use that money to "provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare..." For an example of this, see 1935 or so until 1980. Gov't spending, when used to build things (not bombs), will boost the economy if the money is going to wages. You stimulate DEMAND. Then people buy things. Then small businesses hire more people and order more goods. Then more people buy things.

Its very simple. Its call a demand based economy. And it worked, here, realitively recently. Up until 1980, we were the largest creditor in the world. Now we are the largest debtor (almost up to $10 trillion in national debt). And still waiting on the prosperity to "trickle down."

Oh, and just for my own amusement, what spending do you think McCain will cut? Will it be the Pentagon's $700 billion plus budget? Or the less than $70 billion budget of the dept of education?

One more thing. Since you obviously oppose us all pooling our risk for a single payer healthcare insurance system (even though the way insurance works best for everyone in general is specifically by pooling the risk over the largest number of people), I guess you also oppose our national highway system or our socialist court system. Do I have that right?

I'd have to say that delusion must be in the eye of the beholder. Because you seem to be supporting an administration that has had the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history, the worst financial meltdown in 80 years, and that can't even competently respond to natural disasters. Really? Now wait, you know your standards have been lowered if your response would have anything to do with "we haven't been hit again." LOL. Try that argument anywhere else. Maybe one of those Catholic priests who did those terrible things to kids should have just argued "I haven't done it again..."

Don't get me wrong, I do not question your desire for the U.S. to do well (if I did that, I would be a repub). But I do think that you need to be careful rejecting facts that you don't agree with out of hand because of some claimed bias. The Repub STRATEGY of attacking the media is just a big boy game of working the refs. No different that Phil Jackson or Lou Pinella.

Here is the link to that ridiculous Palin interview Katey Couric did on CBS. Palin's answer to the first question is equally laughable to her "I'll try to find ya some and I'll bring um to ya" answer on the McCain regulation question. She repeats her pageant answer about McSame campaign chairman Rick Davis "recusing" himself from Freddie Mac in 2005. Couric should have asked her why Davis was still getting paid $15,000.00 a month if he had recused himself. Maybe she should stick to the photo-ops.

"fdr was not the president at the time of the depression and tvs were not invented yet"......

That depends: the depression started under president Hoover (1929-'33), but it lasted well into WW II (which, BTW, is no coincidence). Television was invented in 1927 (though commercial development was interrupted by WW II).

why Davis was still getting paid $ 15,000.00 a month

Actually it was Davis' firm which received the payments, but it seems strange Mr Davis was unaware of this fact, as he was on unpaid leave from it.

Almost as strange as a presidential candidate not knowing the President can't fire the head of the SEC. (Or a vice-presidential candidate endorsing a project until it was proven to be a "Bridge to Nowhere", then claiming to have done the opposite.)*

*I have to correct myself here: Gov Palin said she had refused federal funding for the project. In hindsight a wise decision. Which however begs the question: why would she refuse funding for a project she was supposedly supportive of?

Man I can just imagine this thread in November. How many posts you think this thread will have? Any guesses?

Yeah, Jeelen, Davis' firm Davis Manafort lobbying has received three hundred fifty odd grand from Freddie Mac since 2006. He's profited since he owns the firm.

Here is some audio of Bush in 2002 saying how Fannie and Freddie should loosen mortgage lending so more minorities could own homes. He promised over five million new minority homeowner by the end of the decade. This created the housing market bubble that led to this ongoing disaster. Another disaster at least partially cause by the Bush White House, he is easily the worst president ever.

Here is the video of Palin being annointed governor by her witch hunting pastor. Pastor Muthee laid hands on Palin to ward off evil spirits, witches and the like and to help her become governor. The annointing begins around minute seven. Muthee says "every form of witchcraft, it will be rebuked in the name of Jesus."
