Seeing as we now know that the Inca have all prerequisite techs for Liberalism, it's turned into less than a favorable situation for us to delay finishing the research of Liberalism, so we need to decide which technology to take after finishing liberalism that is available now.

I don't have the turns for each tech, but if someone would post them, I'll add them to this post.

The question is the choice of a new tech to research.

So, to deem the most useful now is in order.

But here another important point, too: this tech is free.

So, the most expensive looks in order.

While I think Replaceable Parts would be more useful now (immediate and short
term increase of hammers) Astronomy (both the most expensive and very
useful for the seas and science) gets my vote.

(I must say if Nationalism had no beakers in it, that would be my vote, for
    Military Tradition and Democracy).

    Best regards,

I wonder what donsig will say when he sees this, he'll probably see this as an argument for private polling

Private polling belongs in the locker of Davy Jones.

I see Democracy Games more like a parliament system where people vote openly, not a sort of "citizens right thing" where the most odd agendas should be protected and obscured in secrecy. If people cannot defend and argue for their choices, they got nothing to do in what I see as a parliamentary system.

People argue long and hard for a case, only to see someone unknown make the decision for them, that would be quite unfair.

So, stick to the guns and argue ones case, that is a fair and more open faced way of political communication. There is obviously a split between the open vote crowd and the secret police crowd.

Only elections are private. Polls are usuable open or with name.

Why are the elections not in the poll-forum, i've missed it.

It's in honour of the German Longbow that stirred up all the court cases and rulings over the last few weeks :)

It's a tradition, it has been that way since before I came here. I think it is to avoid flooding the polls subforum.

It's to ensure the elections stand out, in case there are high activity polls in progress. :)

Yes, definitely Astronomy now that we know another civ is close to reaching liberalism, there's no way we can wait for democracy anymore.
