LINESII- Into the Darkness

Not a very good move, Cone. Trying to fix things after such a mistake tends to only make the situation worse... "Oops, sorry we enslaved you for several decades now, here, have your freedom back (surely your masters that got used to living off your back by now wouldn't mind!), and some money for you that we are certain you wouldn't use to buy up knives to avenge this little misunderstanding"

great update iggy

You must send aid to the northern bladist colony, or you will have the deaths of thousands of people on your head.

From the Gorinese Empire
To Croyodon

In light of the growing closeness between Croyodon and the Gorinese Empire, Lord Kaiser Basu Oborski proposes a road that will connect to our two nations and bring our already close ties even closer. This road would be funded by your nation, as the majority of land that it must span to connect your capital to ours is on your side. This is completely up to you. If you wish not to construct this road then nothing shall change between us.

To Vollinin
The Lord Kaiser advises you to cease all relations with the Lengel

To the Lengel Horde
Lord Kaiser Basu Oborski advises you to cease relations with a CRA state.

EDIT- das do you have msn or aim or anything?

Sorry, have neither.

We would like it be known we are not hostile, and we are not dutting off expansion. We are merely claiming and cultivating a region disenfranchised from Swade rule for far to long. We wish for a 3 year NAP, yet again.

You are liars, and poor ones. We refuse your deceitful offer of a NAP once more.

Holy ****!!!!!

Great update, by the way!

And Iggy, why did you build Farport on that meaningless speck of an island (which wasn't even on the map last turn) instead of the island that we clearly agreed on with Verta--the nice, small, oval one to the southeast of Exilsium that would be a perfect base for explorations? Can you change that and pretend it never happened?

holy crap, well darken, you put up a very very good fight

iggy could you put up the casualties for the Lengel, total bitte

While this is true, do remember that I was forced to go through mountains to invade. This was the main factor in my losses, as after I broke through there was nothing to stop us.

your point being??

That if such defensive terrain had not been present, and had it been only plains and hills, the causlities I would have taken would have been significantly less.

What are your plans for the nations to the north? Surely the map does not need to be simplified further?

I wouldnt mind if he got rid of Chipland and sviterland

would 3 story stone walls pose the same defensive bonus

and Iggy, i really don't see how cavalry of any kind can break through walls, unless they are made out of steel or something.

Are you really planning to build a wall around the entire country? Fortifications are generally rows of forts, not walls...

no lol, around my cities, and i know fortifications are rows of forts but cities did have walls, especially border cities and important trade cities, atleast the romans did, carthage to, i don't give a crap about the rest

Cities generally surrender when surrounded, particularly by large and angry Lengel hordes that cut off all of their supplies. The concept of serious siege warfare didn't exist until the Middle Ages (with the exception of Athens during the Peloponnesian War).

As this has already been discussed, we affirm to a new Non-Agression pact between our peoples.

Tribes that join our nation peacefully will not be enslaved. Ones that resist will be enslaved, If you convert to Trinlinism, we will not entirely enslave you if you resist.

Okay I'm frickin POed! Were my generals plain idiots or what?

Davar fortified the Keran Range with every resource they had, and raised a volunteer/conscript army of archers.

Yet it took one year to conqour the entire nation? What, did I just prop up up some pointy sticks and die?

He would have to attack now or allow the Davarians to fortify further and attack in more favorable weather. Never one to allow his enemies reprieve, Temujan ordered a siege.
It was a brutal blow, over 10 000 Lengel Horsemen versus barely 4000 Davarian soldiers, many of them conscripts.

WTH?! I ordered for scouting to be done extensively, and at the first sight of the Lengels for word to be sent for the other armies to gather! I should have had plenty of time to gather much more of my forces at the sight and prepare for battle BEHIND the walls. Did my people just forgot how to supply theirselves and just die off? And did they forget how to attack them from behind the walls, my biggest strategy?

but the Lengels could simply take more of it. They could afford to. Meanwhile, the Davarians had almost no shelter, having put all of their resources into the great walls across the pass.

What, did they forget how to build a fire? They way you descirbe it makes me believe that my generals were plain idiots.

I had 16,000 men in the Kerans, no where else. The kerans were my stategy-no use in defending something if he couldn't get through the mountains. My generals knew the mountains a 1000 times better than any invader. I had walled the passes, allowing my men too shoot at the enemy behind the walls and force him to seige it or suddenly become experts at mountain climbing. Not to mention the fact that the passes are narrow and horses would be hindrance in those areas.

My stategy was simply to keep him from taking the Kerans. My people know the kerans much better than the Lengels, so they should know about the passes and everything and move faster.I ordered for the passes to be fortified to prevent their crossing. So I ordered for extensive scouting to determine where the Lengels would attack. Then- when they attacked- I ordered for word to be sent to the entire 16,000 man army to gather and hold the pass they attacked. Repeat as necessary. Yet none of it but the fortifications were followed.

I still can't see why you made my generals such complete and utter idiots. They didn't resupply , appearntly didn't scout for the enemy as I said, didn't gather behind the walls as I said, basically didn't listen to a word I said.

:sigh: I doubt you'll change it no matter what I say. Any other good spots open?
