The map size is 250 x 250. Everything is else random.

    4000 BC (0)
We are the Canadians. Our 50-turn run is city-state.
As always, we start worker houses first.

    3250 BC (15)
We have contact with Japan. We give them masonry for warrior code. We couldn't even squeeze an extra $1 from them. We sell them bronze working for $42 and $1/T.

    2750 BC (25)
Toronto is founded. It starts a regular warrior to get some exploring units out. We really lack map knowledge and trading partners.
We contact Brazil. No trades are possible.

    2460 BC (25)
(IT) We barely survive our first encounter with an enslaver. (1-0)
We complete enslavers hut. We begin working on our first spearman.

    2380 BC (34)
We have contact with USA. We ship them warrior code and $141 to get polytheism.

    2380 BC (34)
We only injure the enslaver that killed our warrior. (1-1)
(IT) The enslaver attacks our warrior and loses. (2-1)

    1940 BC (45)
Vancouver is founded. It begins working on walls.
(IT) We lost and exploring warrior. (2-2)

    1780 BC (49)
(IT) We lost another exploring warrior along with a defending spearman.
We complete city-state, and begin research on iron working.

    1740 BC (50)
We can use double speed workers, so I revolt to city-state.
We ship the USA city-state and $127 for pottery and the sail.
(IT) Our luck with spears is terrible. Another one dies to an enslaver. (2-3)
We saw Japan get a worker from this.

    1700 BC (51)
(IT) The Germans have been destroyed.

    1660 BC (52)
Our enslaver runs away from his first chance to attack. :(
(IT) Japan established an embassy with us.

    1620 BC (53)
Our brand new enslaver wins killing a Brazil warrior going elite. We get a worker. (3-3)
(IT) Toronto suffers a propaganda campaign.

    1580 BC (54)
Our enslaver wins killing a Brazil warrior. We get a worker. (4-3)

    1540 BC (55)
Our enslaver wins killing a Brazil warrior. (5-3)
Our enslaver wins killing a Brazil warrior. We get a worker. (6-3)
(IT) Our spear behind walls defeats an attacking enslaver. I can't tell if it died.

    1540 BC (57)
Our elite enslaver barely wins killing a Brazil warrior. (7-3)

    Summary:
I am turning over at an odd numbers of turns. I saw a huge pile of Brazil units heading our way. Most of them left in the fog, so I know we aren't the target. This doesn't feel like a false start.

Montreal now produces spears every 2 turns using a forest. Once the current tile is mined, we should be able to do so using a grassland tile. Our next clan is due soon, so we need some spears for escort.

Toronto is building regular spears to get more exploring units out. We know far too little about our nearby land. We only have 1 exploring warrior left right now.

Vancouver is on flag to get the second cows and a pig inside our borders.

That first exploring spear to be build should head toward Brazil. I would like to know more about the land that way. If Brazil is burning there initial troops, they could be our first target. ;)

Next city should claim those two mountains for potential iron ore.

Hmm...is it worth 250 gold to buy 2 foreign Workers?

There aren't any tech 2fers available ... yet.

I'd say it's a little steep considering we can get those via enslavers too

My opinion we can't have enough workers. I would take the deal.

If we are on an island and have meet everyone here, we are not going to have a many chances for 2fers. Can you trade for Iron Working or Writing?

    Writing can't be done.
Ooh! We can actually buy Iron Working from Brazil for Furs, 7gpt, and 310 gold, giving us a possible 2fer for The Wheel from USA!

    Montreal: Spear > Spear
T1: I road the second Furs.
    Vancouver: Flag > Spear
    T2:
    Montreal: Spears
    Clan autoproduces.
    T3:
    Toronto: Spears
    Apprentice autoproduces
    T4: Start moving the Settler.
    Montreal: Spears
T5: Enslaver retreats from Japanese rWarrior :(
Brazil declares on Japan. I am shocked, shocked I tell you.
    Slaver autoproduces.
T6: eEnslaver captures the wounded reg Warrior near the twin mountains.
    We spot a Japanese Bireme...
    Montreal: Spear > Acropolis
    Vancouver: Spears
T7: Buy Iron Working from Brazil for Furs, 7gpt, and 310 gold
UGH! USA is "doubtful" on trading either Myst or Wheel for IW :(
On the bright side, the NE peak of the twin mountains has Iron :D
    Toronto: Spear > Flag
T8: Calgary founded next to the Iron mountain. It will have 2 Furs, Sugar, Iron, and Elephants in its radius.
    I immediately road the Iron.
    White screen on IBT
T9: Our 2fer is marginally available: The Wheel for IW, 28 gold, and 9gpt (all we have). I'm going to hold off.
    Toronto: Flag > Slavery
T10: I've been trying not to risk our Enslavers, but this time I find a lone Brazilian Spear that two Enslavers can reach. It only takes one to kill the spear.
    Vancouver: Spear > Slavery
T11: The Wheel deal has worsened to IW, 9gpt, and 38 gold. I pull the trigger before it's too late. We can see 3 sets of Horses 4-6 tiles away from our cities.
Something attacks something -> white screen before I can see it.
    Hebrews complete Solomon's Temple
    Babylon completes Hammurabi's Code
T12: New techs available: Riding from Japan and Trade from both Brazil and Japan.
I take another gamble with an Enslaver...and lose the unit :(
White screens AGAIN, both while Japan and Brazil are moving.
Montreal: Acropolis > Royal Stables (due in 3)
Calgary: Flag > Great Iron Mine
T13 (70 in game): Our exploring Warrior finds Atlanta to the east, N of Japanese territory.

We lost an exploring Spear N of Brazilian territory around T9 or so.

    Nice progress.

Shall we found a coastal city next to explore a little better?

    Got it

Spears aren't worth attacking with enslavers. I know we badly want workers, but we also want to keep them a while.

I can't tell if we have the iron on the road-net yet, but I am glad to see we have it.

I'm leaning toward the pig & horse by lake spot for the next city. It will be nice to control a source of horses. That will be the front lines once the war with Brazil starts. It will want ASAP walls.
After that I agree with TheRat to get something coastal to produce some ships.

Yah, I got too aggressive. I was mostly looking for warrior/archer opportunities.

Iron is indeed on the road-net; we can build Braves!

We're also due to get more Furs in a few turns; that should help the trading situation.

I noticed that Japan lost a city to Brazil, but then she retook it ~2 turns later. She also jumped in gold near the end of my set; now around 800 or so. Speculation: She met another tribe far off to the east, perhaps by boat.

I am on turn 6: The question now is. We could get writing from Brazil for 18gpt, 105gold and iron and potentially trade for a 2-fer with America. Are we willing to trade our only source of iron for 20 turns?

Also, we will get elephants in a few turns and could trade it away for some $$$, are we willing to do that?
