    I do not have a problem with that site. 5 tiles away from Winnipeg gives lots of bonus grass and no overlap. (I was thinking that Brazil might settle there for us).

    I have an SF convention this weekend thru Monday. If the game is available this weekend and the player after me is interested/available, we could swap.

    Given our position on the mini-map do we want to try sending boats north to see if there is lands above us? Northwest from the west-most point also looks good.

    I managed to squeeze in the remaining 5 turns last night. I am going to post later today. We have just captured the second Brazilian city. Brazil is now willing to talk and they have a monopoly on literature, which they are willing to part with. We have have 2 techs over them and could maybe banter for monarchy as well (2 others do not have monarchy, while everyone has religion and republic).

    Of course, this would mean some turns of peace with a risk of flips. Maybe we could get the coastal city that Brazil founded as well. The main question for the team is, are we willing to go for temporary peace with Brazil to gain techs? Or do we fight until complete elimination. Brazil still has a number of strong cities.

    I say we fight! :hammer:

    I'm okay with tech-peace, but I'd prefer to take at least half their cities before signing the truce. Grinding through 20 turns of units is a drag.

    At Winnipeg, go 1-1 losing a horse against the enslaver there

    Move big stack towards Belo-Horizonte

    IT lose a brave on defense against a spear, a propaganda campaign upsets Montreal

    Turn 4 - 575AD
    rush market with MGL at Edmondton

    our braves really struggle against spears, go 2-1 at Montreal
    at Winnipeg, I defeat 2 units, the big stack moves next to Belo Horizonte taking out an enemy unit

    decide its time for some trades, get sea fearing from India for 400g and 19gpt
    with sea fearing, we get Elephant training, 54g and 7 gpt
    sell it to the USA for 200g and 1 gpt

    Stack moves toward Rio (slow and steady)
    Ottawa is founded along the coast incorporating two cows

    IT we go 2-1 on defense against Brazilian counters

    Turn 8 - 675AD
    Two war elephants enter the theatre, this feels a lot better
    Rio will be in reach for the fast units of the stack next turn

    IT Oh dear, we go 1-4 on Brazilian heavy counters near Rio
    Brazil's new city Recife along the coast has grwon to pop 2, ready to take

    Turn 9 - 700AD
    go 3-1 on the way next to Rio

    IT this round, defense iks better and we go 3-1
    Rome finishes Limes

    Turn 10 -725AD
    Brazil is willing to talk and they got nice techs that others don't have
    our siege on Rio is great, we go 4-1, gain 48 gold and take the city. The city comes with 4 workers
    Defeat another 3 units outside Rio

    Brazil would be willing to go for peace and give us literature (monopoly), 400g and 10 gpt for it :)

    Looking at the map, I want to keep pushing Brazil.

    I don't want peace as long as Japan is at war with Brazil. I don't want to sign peace just to let Japan get some of those cities. The conquest of Brazil will take us a long way toward offsetting the AI deity advantage.

    One thing I don't like is the mini-map gives confirmation that the civs we found are it. I'm worried we may find the next land mass way ahead of us.

    Question: If I manage to get Monarchy should I immediately revolt into it?

    I got it.

    Please get to Monarchy ASAP. That is our government for quite a while. Commie is the next possible one, and that is ages away.

    The only reason I wouldn't revolt is we need troops for the next turn for some reason.

    Before Ending 725 AD
    Switch Edmonton to Merchant ships. Rush walls at Ottawa.

    Trade 1102 gold + 68 gpt to India for Monarchy. No other trades available.

    Our citizens what Monarchy so the revolt begins.

    Hire some tax collectors to mitigate the effects of the revolt.
    and I hit enter:

    Between Turn:
    Brazilian and Japanese troops kill one another. Looks like the Japanese attacked Recife and failed to capture it.
    Korea is down to 2 cities. My guess is that India is going to destroy Korea in a turn or 2.
    Our silly Domestic Advisor thinks we should build a Gold Mine. I think we should wait till we can build one on another land mass.

    750 AD:
    Our Enslaver runs into an invisible unit and turns it into a Japanese slave :D (1, 0)
    Elephant kills Siege Bow by Rio. (2, 0)
    Native Horseman kills Spear at Recife (3, 0); Native Horseman kills Spear (4, 0) and Recife is captured.
    Brave kills Archer (5, 0);

    Trade Monarchy to USA for Literature.
    Trade Monarchy and Literature to Korea for Republic.

    (note: I offered Korea, Monarchy, Literature, Furs, Gold, Elephants, Horses, Iron, and 100 gold for Religion and was told I was getting close to a deal. :crazyeye: )

    Between Turns:
    Lose 2 Braves to Brazilian attacks near Rio. (5, 2).

    775 AD:
    Enslaver kills wounded Japanese Cataphract (6, 2); eEnslaver kills Japanese Archer (7, 2); eEnslaver kills wounded Japanese Catapult (8, 2).
    Brave kills Brazilian Archer (9, 2); eSiege Bow kills Spear (10, 2); Brave killed by Spear (10, 3); eBrave kills Spear (11, 3);
    Chariot kills Chariot (12, 3);

    Between Turns:
    Lose an eBrave and kill 2 Brazilian Archers moving to attack Brasilia (14, 4)

    800 AD:
    Brave kills Archer and is promoted to elite (15,4);
    Attack on Brasilia: eChariot kills Spear (16, 4); Chariot killed by Spear (16, 5); Elephant kills Spear (17, 5);
    eEnslaver kills Japanese Archer (18, 5)

    Between Turns:
    Brave killed by Brazilian Archer (18, 6);
    Korea destroyed by India (costs us 11 gpt). :sad:

    Brazil wants to make peace. I refused.

    825 AD
    Attack on Brasilia: Brave killed by Spearman (18,7); Brave kills Spearman (19,7); Spearman killed by Spearman (19, 8); Elephant kills Spearman (20, 8); eChariot kills Spearman (21, 8); Chariot kills invisible unit (enslaver?) (22, 9) Brasilia is captured.

    Between Turns:
    Brave killed by Brazilian Archer (22, 7);
    Arabs are building Philosophers Stone.
    We sight an Arab Bireme by Brasilia.

    850 AD:
    We trade Elephant Training to the Arabs for 10 Gold and 16 gpt (we are running negative cash flow).
    We also trade Furs +Gold to the Arabs for 2 gold and 4 gpt.
    Attack on Porto Alegra: Brave killed by Spearman (22, 8); Siege-Bow kills Spearman (23, 8); Spearman killed by Spearman (23, 9); Elephant killed by Spearman (23. 10); Chariot kills Spearman (24, 10);
    Horseman kills Spearman (25, 10). Porto Alegre is captured.

    Brave kills Spearman (26, 10); eSiege-Bow kills Archer (27, 10); Enslaver kills Archer (28, 10); eEnslaver kills Japanese Archer (29, 10)

    Between Turns:
    Brave killed by Brazilian Archer (29, 11);

    875 AD:
    Enslaver kills Brazilian Archer (30, 11); HorseLancer kills Brazilian Archer (31, 11); Horseman kills Brazilian Archer (32, 11); eEnslaver kills Japanese Spearman (33, 12);

    Between Turns:
    Our Scoutship sinks at sea. Also, one of our Merchantships sinks at sea.

    900 AD:
    eBrave kills Brazilian Archer (34, 12). eEnslaver kills Japanese Crossbow (35, 12). Elephant kills Brazilian Archer (36, 12);

    Between turns:
    Japan and Brazil sign a peace treaty. :dance: Hopefully Japanese troops will leave us alone and retreat to Japan.

    925 AD:
    eEnslaver kills Japanese Spear (37, 12); eBrave kills Brazilian Archer (38,12);
    Attack on Sao Paulo: eBrave kills Spearman (39, 12); eBrave kills Spearman (40, 12); eBrave kills Spearman and we get a Great Leader (41, 12). Sao Paulo is captured.

    Our Merchantship sees a new land mass. :clap:

    Between turns:
    Aztec’s complete The Silk Road.
    Japanese troops appear to be going back home.

    950 AD:
    Great Leader builds Port in Edmonton.
    Attack on Fortaleza: Elephant kills Spearman (42, 12); Enslaver captures a Spearman (43, 12). The Enslaver also captures Fortaleza.
    Siege-Bow kills Brazilian Spearman (44, 12); Enslaver kills Brazilian Archer and is promoted to elite (45, 12); eChariot kills Brazilian Spearman (46, 12)

    Brazil is down to 1 large city.

    We could probably make peace with Brazil and get Religion for Furs+Gold. The problem with that is most of the cities we captured are large and have a high chance of revolting. It might be better to destroy Brazil and avoid the flip potential.

    Awesome progress and tech trading!

    Could we send the next settler overseas? It might be good to establish a base there to gain more luxuries etc

    Great job beating up Brazil.

    America or Japan next is a tough call. We do have the issue that America went after us once already.
    We don't have to decide immediately. It will take most of the next turn just to march our troops to that side of the board.

    India swallowing Korea is scary. We could have a monster civ to clear out.

    Don't forget we would need a luxury based building on the other map if we want to get our resources from it. Right now I lean toward taking over our land mass.

    Right now there is about a 22% chance that one of the captured Brazilian cities will flip. I was surprised that none flipped during my turn set. I favor destroying Brazil, and building up our army and infrastructure.

    India does not have a land route to our side of the continent. Either they have to build roads through the mountains or invade via sea.

    Japan only has 1 spot near its borders to build its next town and that is below Atlanta. USA has 3 or 4 spots to build cities, including the spot below Atlanta. Hopefully, Japan and the USA go to war against each other and not us.

    We need a navy before we settle on another land mass. Right now all of our ships can sink in sea or ocean tiles. Merchant ships can make the crossing from our coastal waters to the western land mass' coastal waters without needing to stop in the sea.
