Got it, does anyone have the link for the new CCM2 version. I realized I have to download that
Here is the link:
Reminder: you have to merge the CCM2 ART folder into the vanilla Conquests folder.
Good Progress Tusker on all fronts.
Based on the Viking's borders in my last screen shot; it appears that the Black border is the result a Viking city being captured. No matter what, we are going to have a new contact soon.
If we are prepared to add Uppsala to out empire we should do it, especially if we are going for Rheims instead of the "hidden" French city near Lyons.
After we learn Monarchy when do we revolt into it?
Ok, I installed the new version and should be good to go. Hoping to make some headway towards monarchy and capturing cities.
things look fine, am a little concerned about exposed units
IT True enough we lose 3 units to counterattacks, pretty bad
Turn 1 - 500AD
we get a clan
near France we take out two units, we need to be careful not to lose them when we attack
at Uppsala, we take out 5 enemy units and move quite some units forward, this front looks a lot better than the French
move a stack next to the city, let's hope we can take conquer it next turn
IT at the French front, we lose yet another two units, it is time to play defensive there
Uppsala get actually attack by someone else
Turn 2 - 525AD
we gain a slave defeating a Viking spear in our lands
we manage to capture Uppsala, taking out 2 spears, but revealing the USA as a new foe
IT we lose two units to counters
Turn 3 - 550AD
clearly, the French border is not good at the moment, hope we can stop the blood letting
I play defensive at Uppsala too, taking out 3 stray Vikings and pulling lots of units into the city
we sidestep at another point trying to get to the Vikings at another point
we clearly need roads here
IT USA take out a spear at Uppsala, else little action
Turn 4 - 575AD
monarchy is ready next turn, I plan to revolt right away, even if that hurts the unit support
we need to grow for sure
take out two USA units at Uppsala, move lots of units towards to front
at Orleans, take out a chariot from Brazil
IT three US chariots take out three units at Uppsala, that hurts
we get monarchy and revolt
Turn 5 - 600AD
take out all three chariots
get two Viking units to retreat and end up next to coastal Norrkoeping
we want fast attackers, hence I start the sail for research
MM for scientists for the one turn anarchy
IT At Norrkoeping we lose three units to an archer and chariot, the RnG in this game has been terribel for me so far
we become a monarchy
Turn 6 - 625AD
we can only afford 20% science with 20% lux at the moment thanks to crippling unit support
Things will get better with trade and markets
take out 3 units at Uppsala, a fourth takes three attempts (2 retreats)
attack Norrkoeping, defeating 3 spears, 2 archer but one chariot remains
this is very unfortunate as it can double attack
IT the chariot doesn't attack but another spear is pulled into the city
Turn 7 - 650AD
we found Aydin between us and France. The city will eventually include the wine and sugar. There is still space for a city NW of it claiming the cow
I attack Norrkoeping again, it reveals a catapult and 2 spears. We defeat both spears and a chariot
only to reveal yet another chariot, which we take out but a catapult is left
We lose two units in the process
IT US americans come with big stack to Uppsala
Turn 8 - 675AD
third attempt to take Norrkoeping
we defeat a freshly minted spear, the catapult and yet another chariot shows up
A ballista takes care of that and the city is finally ours
This helps unit support a little
We turn attention towards Uppsala and take out all 7 Americans
IT we research the sail, trade next
Turn 9 - 700AD
take out 2 units near France and two at Uppsala
we need to heal units before advancing
Americans attack Uppsala again and take out 2 units, they have an invisible unit there as well
Germans finish christianity
French pop by Orleans with a settler pair, shall we let them settle and take the city later?
Turn 10 725AD
Defeat a few units around Uppsala and Norrkoeping
I leave it to the next player to advance but I strongly suggest to move via the hills for better defense
Vikings have a mere two cities left, we should be able to take them out and then go after USA
Our land with Vikings/USA in the east
That´s a very interesting reading about all your early 'always war reports'.
Late set teaser:
ThERat, nice expansion of our empire .
725 AD (0)
I up the science rate by 10%. We want to keep running deficits to keep up with science. Despite the size of the empire we are behind by multiple techs.
(IT) Scandinavia wants to talk. We don't understand their language. There ambassador leaves in a casket.
750 AD (1)
Lack of spears is really painful. Our offensive stack to hit the Vikings could get shredded. CCM has a real disadvantage versus base game. Swords are only 1 defense.
We kill the French settler. I don't want another city to deal with. We can always use more workers.
I ship the workers by Orleans south. That area is too hot to keep the workers protected.
We kill Scandinavia: 1 archer and 1 enslaver (landed from their boat). (2-0)
We kill France: 1 spear. (3-0)
(IT) Now a French ambassador leaves in a casket.
We lost a ballista. (3-1)
USA attacked us near the Viking capital.
775 AD (2)
We gained a worker.
Brazil is being a pain with wander spears in former Japan. I don't have the troops to shut them down.
Orleans needs a couple of swords after the one up there died.
We kill France: 1 archer. (4-1)
We kill Brazil: 1 spear, 1 warrior. (6-1)
We kill USA: 1 spear, 1 archer and 1 siege bow. (9-1)
We lost: 1 sword. (9-2)
(IT) We killed a USA warrior. (10-2)
We lost an enslaver. (10-3)
The spear in the stack should have been the one attacked.
Osaka starts admin center. It has too much wastage.
Orleans starts building walls.
Norrkoping starts walls.
Pig and Cows starts pumping out 1-turn spears.
America starts Hagia Sophia.
That means they have researched religion already.
800 AD (3)
Super Duper Enslaver arrived. The leader runs to Aydin to build an academy next turn. I don't want to rush in Scandinavia cities at this time.
I retreat the offensive stack by Scandinavia. I need to wait for some spears to protect it.
Orleans just lost another offensive sword. Too many spears to kill and not enough spear killers. I have to divert some swords this way just to hold our ground.
We killed USA: 1 chariot, and 1 archer. (12-3)
We killed Scandinavia: 1 spear. (13-3)
We killed France: 1 sword. (14-3)
We lost 1 sword. (14-4)
(IT) Uppsala begins a forge.
825 AD (4)
We get a quiet turn. We can heal some of the injured troops.
(IT) We lost an elite sword due to a Viking Berserker. (14-5)
Brazil fought off another civs enslaver. Since that unit was near Orleans, I appreciate it.
Lack of spears continues to cost us big time.
Orleans starts admin center.
Tokyo starts admin center.
Aydin goes back to walls.
850 AD (5)
Another Enslaver arrives along with another worker. The leader heads to Tokyo. Another academy will be rushed. It is still the most expensive building we have.
We kill USA: 1 spear. (15-5)
We kill Brazil: 2 Tamio. (17-5)
(IT) We kill Scandinavia: 1 Berserk. (18-5)
The new spear earned his worth.
875 AD (6)
We captured a USA scout. I disband it inside a city for 2 shields. Our economy is collapsing due to unit cost. We can't afford a junk unit.
I'm happy to get another supply shipment. We need more of these being produced.
Our swords continue to suck by Orleans.
We gain another worker.
We kill Brazil: 1 catapult, 1 spear. (20-5)
We kill France: 1 archer. (21-5)
We lost 1 sword. (21-6)
(IT) We lost 1 spear, and 1 horse. (21-8)
We killed 1 Scandinavian spear. (22-8)
We killed 1 USA archer. (23-8)
Kyoto starts on a forge. We can't afford more cities building troops.
Tokyo starts slavery.
900 AD (7)
We gain another worker.
We continue to lose swords by Orleans. This time it was to an archer.
We kill USA: 1 spear, and 2 braves. (26-8)
We kill France: 1 archer. (27-8)
We kill Brazil: 1 chariot, and 1 horse. (29-8)
We lost: 1 sword and 1 enslaver. (29-10)
(IT) We lost 1 chariot, and 1 enslaver. (29-12)
I don't know how the USA attacked a 1 HP enslaver. I'm going to have to pull all enslavers from the main attack stack.
Norrkoping starts a forge.
Pig with Wings starts slavery.
925 AD (8)
I check the civilopedia, and confirm native archers have stealth attack vs enslavers.
We kill USA: 1 archer, and 1 chariot. (31-12)
We kill France: 1 archer. (32-12)
We lost 1 enslaver (to a lone archer). (33-12)
(IT) Ugh, some USA troops bypass the front and start going deeper into our territory.
We lost 1 sword, and 1 spear. (33-14)
An USA archer beat a spear behind walls.
Uppsala gets some badly needed border expansions.
Uskudar starts admin center.
950 AD (9)
WOW, yet another Enslaver arrives. Aydin gets a rushed granary.
We get to watch ships blow up when Stockholm is captured.
It comes with a lot of resistors.
We kill USA: 5 archers, 1 brave and 1 catapult. (40-14)
We kill Scandinavia: 1 archer, 3 spears and 1 berserk. (45-14)
We lost: 1 chariot. (45-15)
(IT) We lost 1 sword. (45-16)
Research on trade is completed.
Next up is literature to get another happy building. We need stuff to build when our troop count gets too high.
Edrine and Bursa start markets.
Aydin starts a forge.
975 AD (10)
This turn was pretty quiet.
We kill Brazil: 1 spear. (46-16)
1000 AD (11)

We kill Brazil: 1 tamoio. (49-16)
(IT) We kill USA: 1 brave. (50-16)
We lost 1 sword. (50-17)
1025 AD (12)
The area around Tokyo is finally free of enemy troops. Orleans has gone quite. It has a few sword in route just in case.
We capture Malmo with $40.
We kill USA: 2 spears and 1 archer. (53-17)
We kill Scandinavia: 2 spears and 1 berserk. (56-17)
We kill Brazil: 1 tamoio. (57-17)
We lost: 3 swords, 1 warrior and 1 horse. (57-25)
I went a bit over 10. I wanted to kill the Vikings before my set ended.
The kill ratio was horrid. It was barely above 2 to 1. Let us hope no more civs before we take out USA. The good news is one less civ to worry about. France is weak, so there are only two serious civs (USA and Brazil) to worry about right now.
Bursa, Edrine, Istanbul, and Pig and Cows are the core for troops. All of the other cities are still working on infrastructure. Two of those are on markets. We done, we can switch the other 2 to buildings.
We need to keep some troops going at all times to be able to push into USA. USA is cash rich ($1,918) and has elephants connected. Taking out there cities will fund deficit research for a while.
The newest part of the empire.
The new proposed city. The seals are a 3 food, more gold tile. Along with wheat the city can grow easily. This is a first ring city. We don't want to wait much longer. It has a nice chunk for forest to at least have some production.
We need to shift a few more workers besides those in the picture to this area. We need roads to also leave this to other nearby cities.
It is time to head into the darkness. We see the USA borders. We just don't know the exact location of their cities.
Jersey Joe (up)
Greebley (on deck)
LK, very good turn . I think your taking the extra turns was a good idea. You knew what the entire multi-front war situation was and what troops you had available to end the Viking threat .
What about leaving the seal for another city and building on the river 2 northeast of the spot you indicate. It get 3 more river tiles and 3 hills.
I think the US city between our borders and Rheims is the place to attack next.
After Literature I am going to research Construction for Aqueducts and roads able to bridge rivers.
I got it.
I'd have to see a new dot map to comment on the city move suggestion.
