LK160, CCM, AW, Turkey

The new front:

You can see that Tokyo is now connected to our road network.

We now have a worker crew building an offensive road to find, and hit France with. That stack has enough workers to road a tile+ a turn. Please keep it well protected.
If you look by Osaka, you can see the additional units coming up the road.

Hmm, AW....sounds intriguing. Sign me u at the end of the roster. My night classes are done this week and I should have the time to join the action. By the way, what difficulty are we talking about here? I hope it's not deity :)

Monarchy. I wanted to ease into AW.

I hit enter and we get a clan/settler. Also, one of our Enslavers provides us with another French worker :D.

Question is, where to build the next city?
Even though it probably gets us closer to the Vikings, I like the spot labeled "WP". Before the settler gets there I will scout what is in the "fog" bordering that site.

I agree if we go with WP, then drop F. To much overlap.

Before Ending 25 BC:
Switch Bursa to Academy.
Between Turns:
Purple Galley is sails into view from the northeast and sails right back out of view.

1 BC:
Our Foreign Advisor does not show us a new enemy to declare war on.
Enslaver captures a French Archer (1, 0).

25 AD – 50 AD:
Troops move, workers work.

75 AD:

Enslaver kills French Archer (2, 0).
Some fog busting by WP build site,

100 AD:

Learn Code of Laws. Start on Mysticism (need for Monarchy)
Viking troops ( 2 archers, 2 spear, and 1 warriot) emerge from fog headed in direction of WP build site.

125 AD:
Supply Shipment helps our treasury. We can learn Mysticism 1 turn sooner.
eEnslaver kills Enslaver in French territory (3, 0). Enslaver kills French Archer (4, 0); Chariot kills French Archer (5, 0);
eEnslaver captures Viking Spearman (6, 0). Also, spearman was guarding a Viking Settler so we get an extra slave.

By WP site Enslaver captures Viking Spearman (7, 0).

150 AD:
A Pig With Wings is founded.

A spearman from Brazil appears near Tokyo. Brazilians are 3 techs (Mysticism, The Sail, and City-State) ahead of us . Also, they have 6 cities. We declare war on them.

By A Pig With Wings:
eChariot kills Viking Warrior (8, 0). We get a Great Leader. :high5:
Great Leader rushes an Academy in A Pig With Wings. (We have no small wonders to rush. If the Oracle had not been build by Greece I would have saved the GL on the off chance we could rush it.)

175 AD:
Enslaver kills French Spear (9, 0).
Enslaver kills Viking Archer (10, 0).
Between turns:
Enslaver kills French Archer (11, 0).

200 AD:
At Orleans:
Swordsman killed by Spearman (11, 1); eArchers kill 2 Spearmen (13, 1). Orleans is captured.
eEnslaver captures Archer (14, 1).

225 AD:
We Learn Mysticism start on City-State due in 4 turns.
Chariot kills Brazilian Spear (15, 1).

I left some troops unmoved, so you can decide how you want to move forward.

The Vikings put a crimp in my Plans to conquer France. How dare they send troops toward our lands.

Here is a map:

Switch Bursa to Academy.
We've hit the point we have to be careful how many buildings at once in the core. I didn't attack much on mine turn due to lack of troops. We were really hurting for spears my set.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My gut says Vikings become the main target. There lands connect up well to France and shorten the line. Further into France gets really ugly border.

This is crazy for how many of our enemies are at war. I noticed that Lyons is Brazilian in the picture above.

Now it is 3 civs at once. We now have our work cut out.

How long until the former Japan cities can actually put out needed troops?

I think we will be in Monarchy before the former Japan cities can put out troops.
Pig and Cow finishes a Forge next turn and will be able to quickly produce veteran troops.

I've got it.

I'm going to split our army into three groups (well, plus MPs):

Force A will secure Orleans, fighting defensively against any incursions.
Force B, somewhat smaller, will secure Old Japan and aid Force A if necessary.
Force C will put lipstick on A Pig With Wings before marching into Scandinavia towards the end of my set.

Builds will focus on military, but I'll let slavery and forges finish before switching. I think we can start thinking about building one Academy at a time once Scandinavia is on the run.

Tusker, I like your Plan. I suggest that if you get a Great Leader you rush an Academy.
Pig and Cow should produce a Catapult and a Ballista during your turn set.

We need to keep in mind that Troop upkeep is our second largest expense after Research. Right now each unit's upkeep is 1 gold per turn. When we switch to Monarchy the upkeep cost will increase to 2 gold per unit per turn.

Pre-turn:

Look around. I kill one Viking Archer with the Enslaver near Pig with Wings.

IBT:

Enemy Enslaver kills our Chariot near Lyons.
Aztecs complete HG

T111 (250 AD):

I spot black borders between France and Scandinavia. We might be getting a fourth foe soon...

IBT:

Vikings chase our Spear + Enslaver combo near Pig with Wings...

T112 (275 AD):

Action near Orleans:
Enslaver captures Archer
Horseman retreats from Spear
Enslaver dies to wounded spear :wallbash:
Chariot kills wounded Spear.

Slider to 40%, City-State in 2 @ +9gpt.

IBT:

Viking Chariot kills our Spear SE-ish of Pig with Wings

T113 (300 AD):

No action - just shifting troops.

IBT:

City-State > Monarchy.
Revolution? No, keep with Despotism for now.

T114 (325 AD):

Enslaver kills French Archer near Orleans

IBT:

Brazilian Warrior kills Horseman sent to chase him :(

T115 (350 AD):

It's quiet...too quiet. I start moving our SoD towards the Vikings

IBT:

Enslaver dies to Sword near Orleans

T116 (375 AD):

Move troops forward...

IBT:

Zzz...

T117 (400 AD):

First step into Viking territory.

IBT:

Viking chariot suicides on our Spear

T118 (425 AD):

Chariot kills Brazilian Warrior near Tokyo.
Sword kills Viking Spear near Pig & Cow

IBT:

Brazilian Chariot retreats at Orleans.

T119 (450 AD):

Enslaver kills the Chariot by Orleans.

IBT:

We get word that Poland has completed Hammurabi's Code.

T120 (475 AD):

In Vikings land:
Sword kills Spear
Sword kills Archer
Sword kills Archer
Enslaver retreats
Sword kills Archer, promotes
rHorseman kills Archer, promotes

Not bad...

At Orleans, we might want to restart the advance. We can muster 6 decent attackers (plus Enslavers) - that should be enough to take the next city in line, considering the pathetic attacks that have been coming.
Uppsala is the Viking city revealed E of A Pig With Wings - I'm not 100% sure whether taking it or diverting south is better. Taking Uppsala might get us in contact with the black borders...

Either way, unit support is starting to hurt.
