Preturn: Switched Kani and Capitol to a Harbor both to complete next turn. Getting above 2 food seems worth waiting on other builds - it will double both towns growth without needing to wait for the workers to free up.
IBT: Warrior Spotted
75 BC: new worker to Upgrade. Move Slavers one square away from Warrior
IBT: Gain a Holy Man
50 BC: We win the fight against the Warrior and gain a Worker. Both new Workers head toward world rel city. Upgraded Warriors. Raise Lux since Osaka grew.
IBT: Gained worker on defense when our Enslaver got attacked.
25 BC: Buddism is in 5 turns so we seem on track for the 8 turns mentioned without the mountain which is still being built. Managed because of Osaka's growth. Will continue improving area a bit more.
We have enough for the US so trying to form a war party for Atlanta.
1 AD: Neat - when mountain completed I can reduce a further turn so it is due in 3 now. Sold Monarchy to 2 civs for around 24 gpt each. We also met Indo-China - one of the civs we sold Monarchy.
25 AD: Wispering Pines connected now. Clan is going to head toward the Hardwood.
50 AD: We will get Buddism next turn.
So lets see how this goes...
Declare war on US . Kill 2 Spear but they have at least 3.
75 AD: Catapults kill 2 Spear and we capture Atlanta. Built one more Mine. Great Library in 16 sounds decent, but we don't have a forge yet. I (short) rush it to get it next turn.
IBT: We got Naval warfare. Unfortunately so does the AI now that we reduced the cost for them as they start the Great lighthouse.
100 AD: We also get lucky on tech. Persia has Republic but not Religion or Monarchy so we can trade straight tech for tech.
I check two of the sites building the Great Libarary and Brazil is building in their Capitol taking 16 compared to our 14. Check one other and it is 88 turns. I think it might be worth a try to see if we can get it. We have 5 turns to "change our minds" with a building we can build.
125 AD: Rush walls in Atlanta. Nothing to attack.
150 AD: Archers defended by Spear. Decide to not attack outward but try to defend vs Spear.
IBT: Spear hold and all 3 are Elite.
175 AD: Kill remains of Archer stack. 4 Spear go into the hills which I ignore. We lost a Chariot. Got a Monk which I use on Atlanta.
200 AD: Kill three of the Spear to save square from Pillage. Lost a Sword. Yogi got no Monk.
Built Peatnwood to grab the hardwood and peat.
225 AD: Roaded gold but it actually didn't help to move farther because city is across a river. Got a second Monk but didn't use. Figure we can wait for 2x (unless we want to use on a captured city)
Stopping here on turn 110.
Notes:
Lined up some forces for Philly on the gold hill but I think we also want Catapract and Chariot as well before we move forward (i.e. wait one turn for those 2 to catch up).
Need 2 more Spear for our cities at some point.
The war is mostly to gain more cities (for more culture) and because USA is crowding us. We are playing Emporer level so I think enemy forces will be lighter.
One spear wandered past Atlanta and is NE of Osaka. Make sure it doesn't pillage. I circled in yellow on map image below.
Roading to Peatnwood to connect hardwood.
Great Library is a gamble down to 9 turns now. I say lets try.
Kyoto can build School of Navigators. Might be worth short rushing Forge to get sooner.
Monk is in Osaka.
