This is the thread for the next game once CCM3 comes up.

I would like to see us continuing playing civs which we have not played in any previous CCM game and picking ones that we have not played in a very long time.

This is the list of played so far: Australia, Babylon, Canada, China, Dutch, Egypt, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Maghreb, Maya, Nubia (Daleks), Spain, Turkey
Still plenty to try out.

Lurker checking in. :crazyeye:

I can't wait to see you overcome the challenges in the next game.

How long do we wait for CCM3?

Today several upload tries of the CCM 3 files at the CFC server failed. May be CCM 3 is somewhat too big for the current upload limits at CFC. I will contact a moderator and ask for help.

As at least LKenter has noticed, last night I have released the CCM 3 files and in the early morning hours Flintlock confirmed and found the reason for the bug I have reported. I posted in the CCM2.5 thread why at present the CCM3 thread is "still under construction" (so of course in nearly all parts it is still written yet).

If you want to start the next succession game with CCM 3 and the Flintlock mod, I will post here the full installation instructions for CCM3 and the Flintlock mod - but you have to deal with the confirmed bug in the version 17C of the Flintlock mod in the way I have posted it earlier on. The scenario.c3x_config file in the download is for the version 17C. The R16 version of the Flintlock mod doesn´t have that bug, but the R17 version holds some very nice new features, that are especially well working for CCM3 (changing eraspecific leadernames and eraspecific names for the civs).

In my answering pm to Flintlock I asked him, if he can release a version 17D of his mod with a fix of that bug as now it is known what triggers that bug.

About one hour ago I received a PM by Flintlock.

Due to the bug in the current R17 versions of the Flintlock mod, Flintlock will post a new version of the Flintlock mod, including the fix of this bug, very soon. Therefore the scenario.c3x_config file in the CCM3 download must be adapted to the upcoming next version of the Flintlock mod, too. I will also use this situation, to slightly increase the free units for the government City States in CCM3, what needs a new CCM 3 biq and a changed entry in the CCM civilopedia.

For the about 30 civers, who had still uploaded the current CCM 3 files, I will post separately the new CCM3 biq, civilopedia file and scenario.c3x_config file in the new updates page of the upcoming CCM 3 thread.

Of course the upcoming new version of the flintlock mod (R18?) must be downloaded and installed, too. When the next version of the Flintlock mod, with the fix of that bug, is released, I will need about one more day (if RL is working well) for creating the new scenario.c3x_config file, 7z-zip the CCM 3 files and upload them again at CFC and open the CCM3 thread at CFC.

The new version is out. I'm working on downloading and testing right now.

The CCM3 thread is opened now and the CCM3 download is updated to the new version of the Flintlock mod. O.k I just see, that LKendter had beat me by about one minute. :D

I'm just starting to fool around with things. It is a LOT different. You have to research city-state to irrigate!

LKendter (I/P) With getting back to a clean Conquests version I lost a lot. Sound is missing. My custom roads are missing. Other graphics missing. Can't find the .BIQ for CCM3 to setup map trading with printing press.

I thought I had a clean Conquest backup. It wasn't. I'm starting a full install from scratch. It will take me awhile to be ready.

If you have weirdness with the startup screen displaying nonsense using the steam version:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Scenarios\CCM3\Text has the label file that works right with steam.

Attached is a CCM3 biq with map trading enabled by tech Printing Press. I like the historical sound BBC 'V for Victory' for great and small wonders much better than the old fantasy-sound in CCM 2.5, but if needed I can post the old one here, too.

Most changes in CCM 3 (but not all, as they can hold a new strategy in playing CCM and I think here it is more interesting if the players can find them theirselves) are listed in post 1 of the CCM3 thread.

The changes in the unit stack screen in the R18 version of the Flintlock mod are new for me, too. I don´t want to post here anything about it for not influencing your opinion about those changes.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was going to just modify my existing set-up. Guess I will back up my existing setup to a flash drive and do a fresh install.

I have a linux based install using wine and have some minor graphics problems (they don't impact game play). I am thinking of switching to steam and running civ3/ccm3 using their proton system. Does anyone have experience using steam and running civ3/ccm using proton?

CCM is now a scenario. It doesn't take over the main game. Clean install is a must IMO. Without clean, you'll have remnants of CCM 2.5 to deal with.
I have no idea what proton is. Can't help you there.

LKendter (I/P) Testing game right now. Need to verify map trading and supply shipments. The default starting options were wrong for supply shipments.
