LK175, South Africa, AWE

Oh, I see what some of the confusion on this wonder was. It occurs twice.

From the Great Wonder listing you get no mysticism:

From the mysticism tech you get:
LK175_AD475_3.png

Not sure why it has movement.

The .BIQ I used shows the following:

Yes, that is true. Each GW that triggers a GA has two entries. This setting was needed as CCM 3 had not enough free building slots (limitation to 256 buildings in Civ 3) to give each civ its civspecific GW by using a civspecific prerequisite building (mostly flags in CCM 1-2.5). The original building entry in CCM 3 is fixed to the civspecific era-none tech of each civ and therefore cannot appear in the techtrees of the game. Therefore each of those civspecific GWs is connected to a resource or a normal building that is available at a certain tech in the techtree, resulting, that these civspecific GWs can only been built when that resource or building becomes available in the techtree.

To show those civspecific GWs in the techtree when it is the earliest time they can be built, another civilopedia entry is needed. Therefore each of the civspecific entries has an additional "dummy" entry so those civspecific GWs can appear in the proper techboxes of the techtree when their prerequisites are available. These dummy entries use civilopedia unit entries and have a * in front of their names.

Unfortunately I forgot, that the wrong unit costs of those dummy entries can be seen in the entry. So I will fix those costs in the dummy entries to the real costs of those GWs. Thank you all for reminding me to that problem. :)

In one of the last versions of the C3X mod, Flintlock was able to overcome that 256 building limit, so in the long run CCM 3 can return to the old settings with civspecific buildings (flags) as prerequisites for the civspecific GWs and the dummy solution will no longer be needed - but this will cause an enormous amount of work in the civilopedia that would trigger a severe delay for the next update of CCM 3. So the next update of CCM 3 will still have those dummy entries - but with the fixed costs.

Not sure why it has movement.
Because it is a unit entry and I found no way to delete the automatic unit movement, attack and defend stats only for those dummy entries.

Hmmm....

Taking Joe a bit. Did we finally find another civ?

Some small delays owing to the holiday season. :xmascheers:

We have yet to be contacted by another civ. I have not been fog busting.

We did learn Literature then immediately got this message:

Got a little discouraged and took a short break. I am going to start a session right after supper.

Got a little discouraged and took a short break.
This is really a big set-back in an always war game. Now things will become even more difficult in this game.

Nevertheless I wish you all a Merry Christmas. :xmassign:

Continuing 475 AD: Do some MM.
500 - 550AD: Workers work.
575 AD: Kimberly founded.
600 AD: Workers work.
IBT: We learn Literature, but we also learn the America had built the Great Library. At least we didn't waste ant shields.

625 AD - 800 AD: Workers work.

Screenshot follows "Notes and Suggestions".

Notes and Suggestions:
  • North of Kimberly 7 slaves just started building a road. The 2 slaves needed to finish the road are south of Kimberly in the forest.
  • I mostly concentrated on building roads, to get more revenue. There is 1 gang of workers that I used for building mines.
  • On the screenshot that follows, I drew all the potential city sites previous shown.
  • The Red site is new and gets the Mountain Sheep and 2 sea tiles at the loss of 2 grass land tiles.
  • The Light Green Site was drawn to avoid an overlap with the Yellow Site. Looking at it, I think the Lavender Site with overlap is better owing to the 3 “wet” shield tiles.

This is so bizarre for an AW game. We still haven't had another contact.

950 AD (6)
They do exist. I declare war on Carthage AND Turkey.
I kill a Turkish camel rider. (1-0)
(IT) Our exploring chariot dies to the Carthage catapult. (1-1)
Sail is the cheapest tech. We have several cities that can use harbors.
We revolt to monarchy.

975 AD (7)
Our enslaver dies to the Carthage catapult. (1-2)
(IT) We are officially a monarchy.
The Mongols complete their UW.
The Israelis complete their UW.

1000 AD (8)
This is getting insane. We now have contact with the Aztecs near former Germany.

After resetting the cities from the revolt, I get research back to 40% with just a handful of clowns. With taking some cities off wealth, the 40% rate won't last long.

Zimbabwe starts the Great Zimbabwe due next turn.
(IT) Our golden age has begun.

1025 AD (9)
Our enslaver kills a Turkish ballista. (2-2)
Our chariots beat a Turkish mounted unit. (3-2)
It then dies to the injured Carthage catapult. (3-3)

1050 AD (10)
An enslaver kills the Carthage catapult. (4-3)

It is no longer quiet. 3 enemies at once may overload the defenses. I prefer to expand toward the Carthage / Turkey front.

What order should we learn techs in after Sail?

I like Riding (for horsemen) -> Philosophy (academies) -> Math (for siege workshop)
It looks like Sabi Sand will have the most base shields when fully mined. Johannesburg is close to Sabi Sand in base shields and might produce more actual shields owing to the extra 25% production bonus from the Great Iron Mine.

With us being in a GA I'd really like techs giving new buildings. We still have some cities on wealth to avoid unit cost collapse. I'd really like to get them off wealth during the GA for more buildings.

How does Math (for Siege Workshop and need it to learn Philosophy) -> Philosophy (Academies) -> Riding -> choice of 3; Religion (Churches and School of Divinity), Construction (Aqueducts). or Trade (Markets) sound?
