Preturn:
Didnt change anything. During the computer move, lots of infrastructure buildings completed, I started more, including hospitals. Expect a huge increase in population during my turn :D

1918:
We sink a few Japanese frigates, losing 2 Ironclad. Artillary shells Egyptian ships at sea.

Stack in Bombay heads for Transports.

(I) An Egyptian invasdion force lands near Wine Country, consisting of Musket, Hoseman and Knight. We lose one Ironclad.

1920:
We clobber the invasion force. We find a Barbarian camp in the unsettled peninsula. :lol:

We destroy Hippo Regus, gaining 2 slaves.

MMOW

(I) India wants to talk. I send Ghandis messanger home full of Vegetarian Curry.

1922:
Our people want to build Battlefield Medicine. Maybe we should. Niagara Falls starts Battlefield Medicine.

Lots of RR in Irrigates tiles. May want to go check food production.

We 'liberate' New Calcutta. I dont raze it as India is nearly finished.

(I) Wine country is again under invasion. Yawn. This time both Indian and Egyptian forces.

1924:
MMOW

Invasion force lands next to New Madras. 6 full Galleons.

1926:
We raze New Madras! We also raze New Delhi! 7 new slaves are brought in in shackles.

1928:
We learn Refining and start Steel.

Our ironclads shell the Egyptian shoreline. See how they like it. :lol:

We raze Pune, clearing the island of Indian settlement.

1930:
We capture an Indian settler near the old Pune site.

1932:
MMOW and preparing invasion force for next island.

1934:
We land 3 settlers on the old Indian island ready for colonization. The next leader can choose where to place them.

No leaders this turn, several slaves though. An invasion force is heading north to the last Persian and Indian cities.

Well, distance stops me from finishing off all the Islands.

However, so far I have / will -
1 - Settle the ex India - settler #4 is landing.
2 - Add settler #3 to the recent island gained.
3 - Fill in several gaps on the home continent.
4 - Land on the northern most island
5 - SINK several of those !%!#%#!% ships - I rushed several well placed ships.
6 - Rush culture in the home land to get more of our continent owned. We are still painfully far from domination - I realized part of the problem was claiming our our land mass.
7 - Get a navy moving toward that nonsense southern island.
 
I am still working on this.
LK27 started last night.
LK26 was first contact fun - trading alone that turn took a lot of time.
EXIII showed up for a blink.

I will post what ever I complete tonight. Trouble is most of the turn is worker actions - :sleep:
 
Cute post, but you will NEVER convince me to play CT5.

Our trouble here was - most of our workers didn't appear to late. Normal by this time half the workers are fortified. What is making it so bad - the typical captured AI cities with tons of food, but little shields. Reviewing an optimizing each city is SLOW.

Not sure how close pop is. Hospitals should help there.

This game has become BORING - something I never though would happen with Always War.

:confused: I find a hugh number of troops in a captured city - Why are we risking the dread no nearby city flip?

I start reorginzing our military - we have sufficient troops to take the world - we lack transports!
We still need a lot of our own continent settled - I burn cash down to $1000 to rush settlers / temples.
We have an obscense tech lead - reduce science to 30% - we need to rush culture to hit the limit! We don't need any more
frelling tech to win - we need control of squares.
(I) I see Egypt is still being a pain.
What tech I really want - espionage - I would like to know how these guys are doing with military.
I switch a few cities to wealth - we can't even use more troops.
Palace expansion - for so late in the game, not much of a palace built.


(1) 1936 AD - I go through a long process of finding every ship and bombing it to go away.
I rush multiple ironclads - I want to kill thes #$!@#@$!$ ships.

Cities formed: Lotsa mountains, Every Little Bit, More Mountains, New Islanda, Twin Peaks, HorseTown
The Americans land a setter to give us 2 more workers.
This games gives new meaning to mmow - I can't believe it is 1936 and our continent is not close to being finished on development. We still have a lot of captured Bab cities with absurd amounts of food.


(2) 1938 AD - vp-mmow
Cities formed: CornerVille, Mid Island, Getting There
[dance] I actually get to sink some of the pita ships.
Our task forces approaches the next island - Pithom is defended by a spearman :)
35 minutes for a turn, 5 of which is fighting - I have never had a game this painfull with almost exclusively worker actions.
Next cash goal - upgrade all of our cannons.
(I) Battlefield medicine completes.
The people must be happy with vp-mmow - the palace expands.


(3) 1940 AD - eb-mmow
4 more ships go under - at no cost - worst we got, ships to repair.
OUCH - our 4 inf army is trapped on the New Calcutta island - a galley is to small to transport it.
Some misc rushes and 10 cannons to artillery.
(I) Our cultural influence is expanding.
NO SHIPS BOMBARD US! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO


(4) 1942 AD - wmfh continues.
Our ships continue to slaughter all those 1 hp ships - 3 more dead.
Cities captured - Pithom(I begin starving), Borazjan(5 dead cavalry - ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGG)
Persia is DEAD
Cities formed - Far Island, Great Mountains
More cannon upgrades, rush a couple of settlers, and another Ironclad.
$600 doesn't go that far ;)
(I) Begin research on espionage - I want to plant a few spies.


(5) 1944 AD - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmow continues.
Cities captured - New Jaipur
OH NO - Rome lands a legionary and Longbowman by Pithom.
Ship slaughter - chapter 4 - killed 1 galleon, 3 caravel, 2 ironclad
Our first lost 1 ironclad (to a caravel????), another ironclad to a 2 hp ironclad
RnG torture - a cavalry can't kill a legionairy.
Rush 4 temples, upgrade 6 cannon.
(I) A couple of Egypt ships bombard, but their Ironclad dies attacking our ironclad.


(6) 1946 AD - I can't believe how much - MMOW.
Ship slaughter - chapter 5 - killed 1 frigate, 1 ironclad, 1 galley
Lose 1 ironclad to a 1hp frigate
Upgrade the rest of our cannons - we have enough artillery for the game.
(I) Egypt sinks a ironclad - total AI fighting this turn.


(7) 1948 AD - I HATE WORKERS - wtmmow
Ship slaughter - chapter 6 - killed 3 caravel, 1 ironclad, 3 frigate
Cities captured - Tlalm... - renamed to ToLong
Aztecs are DEAD What a great island to invade.
Rush harbor on the new island plus a couple of culture buildings.
(I) Egypt wants to talk - why? - could it be we are creaming there ships?
Maybe the lost city?
There really don't want peace - won't even offer music theory.
Egypt kills 1 ironclad again.
Bombay doesn't like us beating up the mother country - that should be fixed by the end of Jersey Joe's turn.


(8) 1950 AD -
I hate ships - chapter 7 - killed 2 frigate, 1 galley, 1 caravel
Lost 1 ironclad to a frigate
Continue the culture rush.
Cities captured - Busiris, New Kolhapur


Summary - We still need 576 squares for domination - gained a lot my turn. Expect more border expansions.
Concentrate on rushing culture buildings.

The extreme north island will fall within a couple of turns.

Leave the cities on wealth - we have PLENTY of military - rush ability is what we need.

The fleet by Chalco is the eventually MAJOR invasion fleet - still needs a lot more units.

The fleet by South Western Port is to invade the southern island.

Well the games ends within 100 turns - the question is domination or histograph.
It just took to long to get out of the rough start.

I hate to do it so close to the end, but I have to drop this game.

RL things, like work and a pending vacation trip are eating into my free time. I'll be gone a good part of July, but hope to see you guys in August :)

Outside of world maps, this will probably be my last game above standard. Just to much work - this game has caused large, random maps to fizzle for me.

With less then 100 turns left, I am NOT going to actively look for a replacement.

@Brian J - Sorry to see the game end without you, but to be honest I never expected to hit 1950.
 
Okay I am going to try and get some turns in before meldor finishes his LK26 turns.

After going through the diplo screens every turn in LK26, I look forward to moving workers here :crazyeye:
 
Every turn Workers persue my Master Plan to have the entire world one big railnet, so it will not be commented on again :crazyeye:

1950AD preturn I look around but do not change anything.
(I) Abe wants to talk, I cannot be bothered.
Cities in the south completing culture buildings swithced to either wealth or settler.
If city produced military unit, it builds the same.
The above is the general procedure throughout.
Exceptions are Ellopi & Steve's both complete colosseum and start on infantry;
Onnontare Temple -> Settler.

1951AD New Karachi added to our empire. India is destroyed :D
Edfu is added to our empire and another island is completly in our control.
Mountain View founded in the southern part of main continent.
Invasion fleet sets sail toward other continent.

1952AD 3 Egyptian frigates sunk :) nobody else to fight with this turn

America lands an invasion force of 1 spearman, 1 horseman, and 1 longbow.

1954AD American invasion force destoryed.
Philly is captured (defended by 1 pike & w spear)
Brundisium (defended by 1 musket, 3 legionaires & a bowman) is captured at the cost of 1 cavalry.
Pompeii is attacked we kill 2 muskets and a legionaire, it is now defended by a bowman.
New Salamanca on main contient is founded. More troops ship out for front lines.

(I) Our navy sucks! :mad: egyptian frigates sink 3 of our ironclads and we don't even sink one.

1955AD Our fine ground forces capture Pompeii killing the remaining bowman.
Settle (defended by 3 spears) is captured. We see the American counter attack coming it is lead by a pikeman, 2 spearmen, a swordman, and a warrior.
We land troops near Buffalo.
I C Town founded.
We land reinforcements at Brundisium.

(I) same old, same old
Resistance ends in Brundisium & Pompeii. Also resistance ends in Seattle & Philly.

1956AD Buffalo (defended by 2 pike & a spearman) is captured.
Leader fishing by Pompeii, our infantry kills a rifelman and the GL Tecumseh shows up. He rushes a harbor in Brundisium.
Sprune Run, Hillside, and Mountainside founded on main continent.

(I) Brundisium harbor -> temple.

1957AD Antium Capture. We land more troops in Philly & Brundisium

(I) Rome atacks Antium with a knight and kills one cavalry.
We learn combustion, start on Mass Production
NF builds CIA starts a new army.
Fishing Village hospital -> market.
Lagash hospital -> harbor.
Zohak Bank -> harbor.
Irihak bank -> settler.
Ironcald prodction switched to Destroyer production.

1958AD Leader fishing by Antium produces the GL Red Cloud. He rushes Cathedral in Pompeii. Boston captured and razed (we get 4 laborers & 2 catapults).
Plant spys in Rome, Egypt and Japan. America catches us, Abe is not happy :lol:
Upgrade 14 galleons to transports. 4 galleons at sea to be upgraded when make port.

(I) Domestic advisor keeps recommending we build hospitals and aqueducts in corrupt useless cities. I ignore this advise.

1959AD Plant spy in America. troop movement etc.

(I) Defending Seattle gets us the Gl Sitting Bull :D
Japan thinks they are threating us at Antium with what they think is a SoD. :rolleyes:

1960AD Joesburg founded. Sitting BUll builds a Cathedral in Philly.
Our artillery shells the Japanese SoD. Cavalry takes care of the 4 riflemen in the SoD. Infantry attacks a samurai, the samurai retreats. Cavalry is used to kill the other 3 samurai in the SoD. Our 2 unit infantry army attacks the Horseman army the SOD, horsemen army retreats very badly wounded.

Cavalry kills the 2 units that retreated. So much for that mini SoD.

The reason for the 2 unit army is that I was using it as a holding place for units that produced a GL. The 2 infantry units in it are the ones that got me GL'ss at Antium.
To the best of my knowledge except for the infantry in the army and and the one elite infantry in Seattle, no elite troop on that continent has prodiced a GL.

I notice that Egypt has a riflemen SoD approaching Antium are they in for a suprise when they see what we are landing to fight them Not to give it all away but there are 2 cavalry armies arriving and enough laborers to build a railnet from the harbor to Antium :rotfl:

There are several transports by Joeville, they arrived during my turn, I left them empty for the next player to decide what is needed. It takes 2 turns to cross the sea here. I would suggest taking some settlers and workers.

Our situation looks pretty balanced.

The newest mapstats still shows 259 tiles.
It also shows 155 pop points.
We need to deal with a few AI LARGE cities. Razing a size 12 city will really swing those pop points need.


@Dark Sheer - Please FINISH the game.
I won't have time in the near future to finish this one - I am going home from Wed to Sun - this game is to large to squeeze in when I am home with the family.

1960AD(0) - Preturn.
1961AD(1) - Killed off some Japanese fools who think they can land on Iroquis soil. Load up 10 transports and heading towards New world. We have enough troops to take the world twice over!! :lol: Japan does a last ditch struggle as they send their SoD (or so they think ;) ) of spearman, longbow & rifleman towards the captured cities.
1962AD(2) - Lutetia captured. Chicago captured. Ravenna captured. Completely wipe out the so called Japanese SoD. :D Egyptian has more respect for the Iroquis as they send a stack of 38 rifleman.
1963AD(3) - Discovered Mass Production and going for Flight. Movement of troops.
1964AD(4) - Rome captured. San Francisco captured.
1965AD(5) - Lugdunum captured. Egyptian SoD is no more. :)
1966AD(6) - Washington captured.
1967AD(7) - Veii captured.
1968AD(8) - Cumae captured.
1969AD(9) - Skirmishes, skirmishes.
1970AD(10) - Discovered Flight and going for Motorised Transport. Suo captured. Hispalis captured. Miami captured. Caesaraugusta captured. Mapstats says 123 more tiles to go. ;)

Movement of troops take a long time for this one but I think I should be able to finish it off. (To be continued...)
 
123 should be nothing. Mass temple rushing alone should get that number soon.
