Loading game from "Steam Cloud"

I saved my current game on "Steam Cloud" rather then my on desktop last night. Now I'd like to load that game onto my Laptop, but when I click on steam cloud in the load game screen, all the slots are empty.

Can you or can't you play one game on different machines using "Steam Cloud" or am I limited to whichever machine I started the game on?

It has to be the same account, and your desktop should have exited steam properly thus syncing the files to the cloud. Logging onto your account on the laptop should re-sync back to the proper files in the cloud. Just going into offline mode on the desktop will not work, not saying that is what you did though.

hmm, I'll try that. I'm pretty sure I did not exit steam, it's probably still running.
