Loading saved game very long

Hi everyone, first of all sorry if my english is not perfect, i'm not a native speaker.

I play civ 5 with all dlc and expansions (G&K and BNW) on win XP, direct x 9 version, i have the 1.0.3.18 patch

the game load in about 1 minute, when i play it no lag problem and time between each turn is also very correct, save game also is not very long.

The problem is when i want to load a saved game, first i had to wait a long time (and i mean long, maybe something like 10 min) and know since my game is 400+ turn, i can need to wait 25/30 min

I don't think it is a path of savefile problem since i could load my saved game, and i don't save/load many times, and the savefile is not big (like 1.5 mo)

what can i do to solve that problem please.

Post the save to see if others experience the same issue. Detail any mods you use if you do.

As a huge fan of save scumming — I immediately reload upon the tiniest mistake, strategy flaw, misclick, or even mere bad luck, — this slowness of loading bothers me a lot.

I usually need to have a YouTube video going to keep sane while I wait for the game to load.

Saving takes 1 second, loading takes a whole minute, often times several.

You said that your game is version 1.0.3.18. The most recent version is 1.0.3.144. You definitely should be using the most recent version since your problem might have been fixed by a later patch. The game is usually patched automatically. Can you think of some reason that you don't have the latest patch? (Or perhaps you wrote 1.0.3.18 when you meant 1.0.3.144.)

Thank for the answers, i didn't made a mistake when i told you the version, now i need to update and see if it solve the problem.

I searched on google and found some torrent but i found virus in the zip. Do you have some safe website where i can download the latest patch ?

Did i say i have a pirate version ? i just want to know how to have the latest patch no matter if it is a torrent, a regular website or anything else.

So just tell me the way to get my patch, it would help me a lot, thank.

Go to Steam and validate your game files. The latest patch will automatically install.
