Logistics of an assault, need some help

When doing an amphibious assault, I look for the best defensible tile (i.e. forested hill) on the coast so you can land directly on to it. Don't worry about a river, since you'll probably have to attack across it.

Ideally, this tile should be beside a city so that you can then directly attack the city, however, I will choose defense over proximity to a city.

Your first wave should include a couple of defensive troops with hill and forest/jungle defensive promotion. Otherwise, make sure you have a couple of mixed troops in there to counter whatever the AI throws at you. I have sat in this tile fending off wave after wave of attackers until my reinforcements have arrived.

From there, I'll let logistics be another determining factor so I can bring more troops across. How I will spread out from the landing plays a role, but not too much.

I would go with galleons to north and start land war there. Corinti(whatever) followed by Ollaytambo.

But at the same time group of mounted units (hopefully cavarly?) near Tiwanaku and Cuzo to see how many units inca has there...

also send friggates to cut away a sea route from Tiwanaku against your land and to bomb down defence.

Protect your sea route to conquered north and keep sending units as fast as you can. (so keep building them homeland)

After you have secured the north area. You can start moving towards Cuzo. Collect for example 3-4 galleons ful of units in your homeland and time their landing next to Tiwanaku same time you are approaching Cuzo. take Cuzo and Tiwanaku almost the same turn...(Tiwanaku doesn´t have any cultural defence ´cause frigate bombing, so you don´t need to wait more than one turn and you can assault)
