I tried to translate an article into English and it was really hard to read. So just for fun I translated it into another language, and then back to English just to see how it might look translated to someone foreign.

Civilization published in 1991 of the best games of all time is probably one. Own civilization, history, mystery ohjastaminen area complete player ever on the game was still known heart, a circle phenomenon that casinos are not only able to stop work in progress. It's a game, also praised the history and development of public education.

20 years of civilization has been published in three official sequels and their version of the game console. In late September five series will appear, which leads to very little reform, but major changes.

Now you can test your skills in people who have managed, if only you knew the correct answer to this question. Correct answer among the three value PC game Civilization V.

Question:

Civilizations, which is not included in the first game of Civilization.

Yes I've learned a lot about the history and development of the public education system from these games, and it's great that the people at Firaxis heard our requests for little reform, but big changes.

It's just too bad that we didn't know the correct answer to that question.

Ok so :lol: I took the Civilopedia entry for the Giant Death Robot

"The giant death robot is a giant bipedal mechanical robot armed with a variety of missiles, gatling gun arms, laser-beam eyes and a deadly kung-fu punch. Although not currently found in the modern battlefield, no doubt across the world governments and evil corporations are secretly developing these metal behemoths even as we speak. When these robots come into service, all of the world's other weaponry will become obsolete, and humanity's fate will be decided by a climactic battle between armies of good and evil giant death robots in the streets of downtown Tokyo (assuming that the giant radioactive monsters don't get us first.)"

and translate it from english through every possible language of the google translator and then back to english, here is the final result

"Today kelinsi job or a car Jordan Lane, laser arms, two legs and part of the Missile command will report empty, military and private health care. Batdokanppanyeun. Important metal, particularly Children living in tokyo against radiation. (Global position and military have been killed and 1.2)."

So I did another example. This time only cycling through English -> German -> Italian -> French -> Spanish -> English. Just because google translate might have a hard time translating character based language to alphabet based language ok. I did this 10 times and by the 10th time the changes are insignificant

0th cycle:

The giant death robot is a giant bipedal mechanical robot armed with a variety of missiles, gatling gun arms, laser-beam eyes and a deadly kung-fu punch. Although not currently found in the modern battlefield, no doubt across the world governments and evil corporations are secretly developing these metal behemoths even as we speak. When these robots come into service, all of the world's other weaponry will become obsolete, and humanity's fate will be decided by a climactic battle between armies of good and evil giant death robots in the streets of downtown Tokyo (assuming that the giant radioactive monsters don't get us first.)

1st cycle:

Death is a giant robot with two legs huge mechanical robots armed with a variety of missiles, Gatling guns, laser eye and a handful of kung fu murderer. Although not currently on the modern battlefield, no doubt in the world, governments and enterprises to develop in secret the evil monsters of metal itself, as we speak. If these robots in operation, will be obsolete weapons in the world and the destiny of mankind is a dramatic battle between the forces of good death and evil, giant robots on the streets of downtown Tokyo (as long as the monster giant radioactive decide not put yourself in the first place.)

8th cycle:

Death is a giant robot with two legs, a giant with a variety of mechanical Gatling guns and rockets, laser vision deadly Kung Fu. Although not currently on the modern battlefield, probably in the world today, governments, and shows the secrets of metallurgy. The execution by the processor, the obsolete weapons in the world and the destiny of humanity, a dramatic struggle between the forces of death, good and evil, giant robots on the streets of downtown Tokyo (but not radioactive monster D satisfaction with the decision).

10th cycle

Death is a giant robot with two legs, a giant with a variety of mechanical Gatling guns and rockets, laser vision deadly Kung Fu. Although not currently on the modern battlefield, probably in the world today, governments, and shows the secrets of metallurgy. The execution by the processor, the obsolete weapons in the world and the destiny of humanity, a dramatic struggle between the forces of death, good and evil, giant robots on the streets of downtown Tokyo (but bad decision radioactive monster D).

bad translator should be the choice site for this kind of hobby :mischief:

Original text:

"I doubt this belongs in the Civilization 5 forum, though. I'll move it to Computer Talk for lack of an exact match."

...56 translations later we get:

"I believe that in five hours of cultural groups nyamaa."

Babelfish is funnier.

One of the reasons I didn't become a translator was because I thought my job would be made obsolete by the internet. It has a bit to go.

Computers still fumble with the nuances of our languages :) They can deal with single words, but put em in a sentence and they totally freak out. Then throw in how words have multiple meanings, and how these meanings are two different words in another language. You can see why the machine fails horribly sometimes.

This is what I got:

Death is a great robot biped robot arms, equipment and missiles of any kind, weapons, Jordan Gatling Guns, laser eyes, and painful bladder Marshall Arts. Although not seen in modern warfare, there is no doubt that the government and companies across the world, the evil monster the secret development of minerals, as we speak. When the robot used in the world of the other weapons are old, and lots of people are robots of death among forses of good and evil in the middle of Tokyo (the street wearing a giant radio-active sample height of the battle of the decision to get "T)

Just remember, lots of people are robots of death among forses of good and evil in the middle of Tokyo.
