The longest I got yet.

It's on warlord (I use to play Prince), and maybe that's the reason, but it still rocks.
 
Golden age length has nothing to do with difficulty level. It's based on game speed.
 
I got 3 combined Golden Ages. (15 years per age, Epic speed), +Maosoleum.

So yeah, that's maybe the reason.
 
I found out yesterday that you can combine golden ages when a soldier ran to warn of an invasion a few turns before I completed the Taj Mahal. I was really glad to have built the Mausoleum of Mausollos (sp?) too! Total 24 turns, and the next one still only needs one Great Person to start.
 
I built the Mausoleum, plus the invasion, plus Taj Mahal, plus a triggered one with a great spy, 45 turns of golden age. I was able to win back my city and take their empire plus push well into the modern age by its end.
