I think civilized discussion is perfectly fine. It is no different than discussing paintings. And people were willing to spend fortune for art since the dawn of civilization.

@OP : I find myself CFC forum quite reasonable compared to what you can find on TV shows or singers/bands fansites.

I don't see any condemnation in the original post, so I'm not sure there's any need to get defensive.

However, Eve Online definitely has the most epic cases of real-life sabotage of in-game opponents. Like cutting an opposing corp leader's power at a critical moment.

Some people went crazy the moment CivRev was announced. That fact that the Civilization franchise would cross over to consoles and handhelds made them incapable of objectively judging any future Civilization related releases after that point.

Games like civ create communities like CFC who are like minded typically enjoying history and what not. It would make sense for a hit game(s) like civ to create a large community(CFC). People come here for the civ, but they stay here for the people IMO.

And since Civ V is the newest in line, the community is waiting and we do as we always do, talk. What's your point exactly, OP?
