Hello ladies and gentlemen, first time poster but long time player. I recently just got interested in playing MOD"s after a few hundred hours of gameplay (I know Im a rookie) I looked around and couldnt find. I was wondering if there is a up to date mod having to do with Native American Tribes in the US. Im not to worried about the start era. Im mainly more interested in the Native American Tribes and the Map. I would like the map to be of the US only without the European influence with a crap ton of Tribes from Seminoles to the Arapaho would be cool. Anyone know if a mod exists and if not what my chances are of possibly seeing one in the future?

Hi BoomerSooner76.... If you need to ask general questions about Mods, it's best to post in the Creation and Customization forum rather than here in Modpacks..... generally a thread posted here means there's a Mod posted for download. ;)

To answer your question, unfortunately I haven't seen a Native America or "Colonization-style" mod for Civ 5, although there is the Conquest of Paradise scenario for the main game. Maybe check the Mod Browser within the Civ 5 game?

Note that a fair chunk of the game's much hyped moddability is yet to be released to the Civ playing community... the mod tools are far from complete, and to enable some of the more advanced mods for Civ 5 such as the ones seen for Civ 4, 2K basically need to release the "Source", which they've yet to do (despite promising to do it for two years now).

So unfortunately mate, you might be like the rest of us mod-junkies... stuck waiting. :(

In any case, there are some cool mods and scenarios around, just plunge in and see what you can find to tide you over in the meantime.

Welcome to CFC. ;)

While the source code will be mandatory for some specifics mechanisms or some total conversion mods, there is already a lot's of thing that can be done without it, including lot's of new mechanism or total conversions made with the limitation of Lua in mind... :D

Which is much limiting for adding new complete civs is the lack of easy to use graphical tools (edit: and, as you said, other incomplete tools since release), we're limited to 2D images (but you'll see some great art work in the new civilizations subforum) instead of 3D animations for leadearhead, there's not many new units made (especially for ancient civs) and you can't add new 3D models for resources, buildings, improvements, ... And all those points won't be fixed by the release of the source.
