I dont know anybody that dosnt like the series, and we all know why. Its not long until the last movie ( :) ) Have you read the book? Did you like the ending? Please dont spoil it for everybody if you know what happened. What would you give the series of books from 1-10.

I would give it a 7. His political undertones are really annoying and I find fantasy books with elves and stuff to be overdone and rather boring. That said, "The Hobbit" was a good book which I enjoyed.

    Great book - 10.
But movie - bad . Didn't like it at all . I think I'll see the end of sequel just out of simple curiosity .

I'd give the books a 10; but I'd have to give the movies a 7. I don't like some of the deviations from the books (Elves at the battle of Helm's Deep? Where did THAT idea come from?).

I don't know how...although I think the black background is nice, too.

I can't wait for the movie. I haven't read any of the books, but I will once I've seen the movie. If I read the book I'd only nitpick and it would spoil the movie for me.

    The movie ;)
Seriously , some "new" ideas ( something you won't read in the book ) are stupid . I'd give 8 to 1st part of the movie, but 5 to second . I got really bored in the cinema . They stretched the "love" part ( where did they take it from , anyway ? ) and made battles way too short . In short , didn't like it at all . But I heard many times that people who haven't read the book like movie very much , and it is understandable .

You should hear out my girlfriend. (I don't mind though. ;))

Anyway, I'm not much of a reader, but these movies are one of the...no, the best movies I've ever seen. And now that I know what (kind of) stories Tolkien writes and what more details I can find in his books it really stimulates me to go and read them. :)

    I can't wait till december. :D

The books were great, I love them. I always read them once a year and for some reason always pick up something new (no I'm not strange :p ). The movies I also greatly enjoyed, but naturally don't come close to the books.

As for the films, Fellowship far exceeds Two Towers, in my opinion. Probably because it was new, it mostly lived up to the hype and didn't stray too far from the book. Two Towers however, did. Some bizarre changes or deviances to characters and events that as far as I can tell were not needed (will wait for the special edition DVD and Return of the King to maybe change my mind).

Return of the King however, I fully expect to love. From what I've seen so far everything is intact (bar the 'Scouring') and ultimately, it was my favourite of the three. Roll on December. Ooh, and another note - my girlfriend doesn't understand my love of LOTR, which means I'm having a great time as the hype machine builds up again and confusing her with sudden rants and speeches about it :p So another point to ROTK

My, that had to be my longest post yet!
