[Vanilla] [LP] Gilgamesh - First Immortal Game

FINALLY, I am deciding to build something non-war unit!
Where should I place the Campus?
Is spending the 115g worth it for the extra science bulb in the spot top left?

Apparently, Teddy decided to come back with an offer every single round now.
Only problem: he is offering less for me to stop the war.
Does that translate directly to me losing the war?

Teddy pops out two more Archers and his chariot is back!
This time it's ON!
The ancient wall firing at me is not exactly making it easier ...

Finally, I am getting to Oligarchy myself!
Time to use the bonus and upgrade my policies.

Should I switch away from Discipline? Maybe to Conscription or Maneuver?

Stupid AI decides to have another Settler walk right through my army.
Thx!

Getting a full view of the american empire, and it turns out Charleston was right there, and probably under siege by Barbs.

I am fiercely attacking Philly, while trying to stay out of reach from Charleston.
The Archers won't cut down the wall all by themselves. I have to help with the WC and massive damages.
This is definitely a change from Emporer to Immortal.

But it does look like I have a tiny chance there!
I decide to go all out, no holding back, we have to take Philly or the sumeran saga is over.

YES!!! We did it, Philly is ours!
We do have a chance after all. That was quite the battle.
I lost three Archers in total so far. I guess all of them to the Chariot.

Over the course of this battle over Philly, I was lucky enough to capture a grand total of three Settlers from Teddy. I rushed them all north as fast as possible and had them build cities QUICKLY.
I didnt have patrol units at my disposal, so they went there all by themselves. Couldnt have them walk too much, Barbs would've caught them sooner or later.

Moving on, army stays out of reach for Charleston, coming in from the north towards Washington.
Teddy has another two Archers and a Chariot ready for me. (It might still be the same chariot. I think I was never able to catch it. Taking Philly was more important.)

I keep pushing and putting my entire army at risk here. Archers and WCs heavily damaged, but I can't keep this up for very long. Washington has to fall, even if it means I lose another 1-2 units.

Lost the third (?) Archer here, but take the city!
The AI doesnt exactly shine here, he couldve wiped out 3 units right there.

Quick check on how far behind on science I have fallen.
And to my surprise it isnt too far. Making more per turn than Teddy and Liz!
This is fantastic news, so I can press on towards Charleston!

How I wished I could upgrade my Archers now!
200g is way too much for me at this point. Those Crossbowmen would be so sweet right about now.
Upgrading the WC to Knights sounds also like a distant dream.

Note the english Catapult parked right outside of Philly!
Liz is having a front row seat to the Sumeran-American war of the ages.

Again, I throw everything I got towards the city. Attack after attack, moving heavily wounded units back into safety, pulling freshly healed units back to the front... Brutal.
Having the freshly-conquered cities right next to Charleston helps a LOT, as I can move them there fast, and get them healed.

All in all, this was an AMAZING first war, of which I can hardly believe I came out victorious!

The AI surely helped a lot as it really doesnt know how to fight and maneuver.

I still wonder where all the american warriors went and where they might have finally ended up. They certainly never made it back to their home towns.

This was certainly the toughest conquest of the first opponent in Civ6 I had so far.
Archer rush, then upgrade to Crossbowmen worked out like a charm on Emperor level.

I feel I was close to failure a few times there. Maybe I did wait too long for the first assault.
That gave Teddy time to build walls, and we dont like walls when we only have Archers :/

I can certainly not go to war against England with the same force, I would be killed.
Somehow I need to step for a little bit, regroup, upgrade to Crossbows and possibly Knights before i can tackle her. Luckily she must've been busy with Barbs, because her Science is barely above mine, and her per-turn output is even worse!

Part of the regrouping is building a few Builders to make use of all the wonderful resources, maybe chop a few forests for some districts. I need money, FAST!

As I am carefully scouting my immediate vicinity for possible barb outpost, I run into this little herd of mustangs... What do we have here? Looking for something?

I better get my ducks in a row, really, really fast. Liz didnt send those units to bring me flowers.

I can plop down Professional Army in anticipation of my hopeful upgrades!

Apart from that I am not sure any other civic could really help me now.
Who knows how much time we have until Liz decides that she does miss Teddy.

We have been able to work at least a little bit on science and commerce.
Some of it due to some strategic chops. I hope I wont miss those forests later.

Passed England in Science! This is big! It gives me hope that she isnt going to run me over with Redcoats any minute.

I decide to upgrade my three Archer to Crossbows now, 300g perfectly fitting the bill.
No money left for the WC->Knight move. That would've been epic.

The Catapult has moved and so has at least one Horseman.
Liz wants revenge for Teddy, and very soon.

Teddy's people were maybe a little to eager to put down farms everywhere.
Now I am contemplating re-using one of those spots in Philly to get an Industrial District up.
Is the extra +1 worth dropping a farm? I think so, yes.

Oh boy, the suspense is killing me! What is England doing? When and where do they attack?
It seems they are moving up north, possibly heading straight for my capitol.
No fartsing around with little Kish there, eh?
