Year 1914

Europe:

The UK released some lands, Kuwait and some enclaves in South Africa to South Africa and Islamic Caliph. This is apart of the rising tensions between the French Empire and the British. Both sides begin expanding the militaries and setting up defenses from what was believed to be surprise attacks on each other. No conflict has started but the opposing troops continue to hold their lines in preparation.

Denmark has commissioned a submarine for the royal navy. An American patrol spotted the submarine off the coast of the Danish Congo. This modernizing effort is seen as a great step forward for the Danish people. Elections also take place in Denmark this year and the widely popular Reform Party wins reelection. This is the second term they have dominated the elections.

Post-war reconstruction continues in eastern Europe. (+1 Private Enterprise to all members of the EEPRC)

High on the news of oil in other countries, Russia begins exploring for oil fields. In the Caucasus they find oil. To much delight of the Tsar and the locals. (+2 Private Enterprise Russian Empire)

The Hellenic Republic announces the 1916 Olympic games will be held in Athens. Much of the world does not care.

Spain’s reconstruction effort have restored its economy to much the same as before the Iberian War.

Africa/Middle East:

Many French troops and ships have been spotted near Egypt.

The rebellion in Turkey, seeming to lack outside support this year for various reasons, is crushed by the Islamic army. Whom have little trouble, with a new navy, in taking the major cities and putting down the rebels. Many have been arrested if not already killed in the battles.

Asia:

In fear of growing Japanese power in the Pacific the Australasian’s expand their navy and launch their first battleships. The HMAS Australia.

Qing China finishes the operations to completely annex Manchukuo. The former Manchu Emperor is safely in their hands and will receive government pension. (+1 IC)

The Japanese Marine corps are expanded to help defend Borneo. Raising again tensions with the British Commonwealth.

America:

The Communist crisis in South America escalates as what appears to be a sign of aggression from the communists rebels from Zulia occurs. The burning/blowing up of a church. It was not on a day of worship but several people were killed. The Venezuelan government moves troops to the border and begins searching for the routes into the nation that the communists are taking. On the opposing side the Zulian government signs a treaty with Mexico giving the Mexican army a permanent presence in Zulia to protect them from the other South American nations. Overall the location is shaky.

Workers party election victories across Central America. Costa Rica and Cuba gain a majority vote for the Workers Party and t he new presidents step into office.

Elections in Mexico and USA. Mexico’s centralists party wins reelection under the new President Calles. Similarly in America, Theodore Roosevelt is reelected.

The first ever civilian flights take place in Quebec. The aviation guru Felicio Hernandez makes a twin engine, four seat plane. Producing over six and using them to fly rich passengers, and mail around the country.

Mexico arrests several key workers party members and puts them on trial for everything from murder to rape. Most are guilty by default and hanged by the neck until dead.

Good update.

Remember what I said about quality in the military before you read your stats.
Wait, what did you say about quality in the military? Don't see anything in the update...

Same thing I said last turn. It takes a long time via direct spending.
Okay.

My PM still has a question that should be answered, though. ;)

OOC: Great update, Luckymoose! And something involving me at last! I am so happy!

To Fellow EEPRC members:
From the Hellenic Republic:

What have you countries researched this turn.

Great update! Also will I be expecting a PM soon, what is happening in Africa I wonder? :mischief:

@Lucky: can you add my name to the techs I acquired from allies last turn?

Maybe you should not rush the update and instead proofread. :)

Nonetheless, nice update. I'm now going to be in full swing.

OOC: Looks like some anonomys person is trying to stir things up. :p
Great update.

Stop pretending that you weren't going to attack France last turn... If I hadn't backstabbed you, you would be at war with like half of the world because of your sneak attack on the Suez!

Or your theoretical French attack into British controlled Ethiopia. We ended up signing a 5 year non aggression pact so no war for now. :p
I was thinking that France wanted to sign it so that I might feel safe though. ><

Who are you? You know people aren't allowed two accounts.

Shush. I wanted to get this done. Besides this isn't about long walls of text.

It's not about the long walls of text, it's about being grammatically correct. :p

I'm just saying. I prefer that you be late but have a solid update than be on time with occasional mistakes that are sort of distracting.

This is probably not the best way to start playing in this NES.
