    Hi!

Lurking since numerous months, I decided to register just for this post.
I really enjoys the Stories and Tales of Civ 4, great bunch of great authors here (special thanks to Noyyau for making me lose precious work hours, I still wait for the end of the Noyyau journal)
I play Civ 4 regularly but I am not a good player, rather a casual playing for fun.
I never stepped to Civ 5 (seems to be less flavorous) and I'd really like to install RoM on my french version (but I believe it will fail sadly on non english version)
I played a lot to Civ 3 and waited a long time before changing for 4 (the civ 4 3D graphics seemed to be really strange at the time)
I'm quite waiting for beyond earth (I spent hours on alpha centaury but nowadays graphics make my eyes bleed)

I hope civ 6 will be CiV4 + RoM + better graphics + multi maps (like good old civ3 ToT)

I don't have much interesting things to post, so I will keep on lurking

RoM-AND is really a great mod, and now that they are caring to make it OOS-immune it may get even better because Multiplayer will be stable once again.

If you have doubts about possible issues on RoM-AND, go to their forum and ask there, they reply quickly: http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=369

And if you want to make your opinions present in some of the stories you may do so in the IAARs (interactive ones like Democratic Caliphate, Tryst with Destiny, most of Caterpillar's and The Noob's stories, VGL's Persia, Baseballpie's Germany and more). Also those are great places to learn many things of CIV and its mods, for casual players to hardcore players as well.

E.g. Many civ players dislike Slavery/Whipping without taking into account its benefits (they are somehow hard to understand), but if you check a Tryst with Destiny you'll see a prudent use of Slavery throughout the empire to counter-check with your own strategy, and in the Democratic Caliphate you'll see a bunch of different approaches to the use of Slavery (Syria is more fond of whipping, Iraq is prudent, Egypt uses only in emergencies and the others I didn't see a pattern yet).

    Interesting observation Spirictum :thumbs up:

Technically the forced labor in my story is the forced use of bonded labor which sadly is used even today in India. Bonded labor was brought in to complete the construction work for the Commonwealth Games for instance.

Such use of forced labor created in old times as they do in modern times a lot of discontent. I try to add in realistic elements into how mass use of forced labor would affect society and polity.

IKR? It feels so nice to be relevant after weeks of hiatus. Maybe I'll do an update sometime soon.

As long as you aren't yet 100, you're still young in my opinion.

Thanks, storywriters! I was one of you once (way back forever ago in 2011), but then I suffered a mild case of creator breakdown. I always meant to start back up, but never got around to it. I have been popping in from time to time, mostly to read new stories, though. :)
