im not sure whether this is a cheat or a strategy but anyway also someone has probably already said this so here goes

earlier today i was the japanese and i was selling a luxury to the chinese (incence) after i had maid the deal the very next turn i realise that i didnt have enough incence so i was without my incense and it was going to the chinese so i thought that if i pillaged the road that i would be able to stop the deal but no black mark so i pillaged the road and the very same turn i built it back.

i looked in my city and saw that i had my incence back i then went and looked at the chinese and they were still giving me my gold per turn for the incence i was giving them weird or what
so if you either wnat some more gold or have forggotten like i did this could be your answer

probably a bug. gold does not need a trade route, luxuries do. just be happy that you get the gold, will ya?

try selling the incense to another civ then break the road again, rinse and repeat. See if you can get the incense to trade to every civ yet you still have it. Major money glitch if it works.

yeh ive done it a few times not by the way of wanting to cheat but all my cities fell into disorder

they should fix this bug. such that if you destroy the road, a bolt of lightning hits your capital and the leader spontaneously combusts leaving his feet and his hat. game over! you broke your word!

is this cheat disallowed in GOTMs

you can do it -- just like you can sign a mpp and then ackstab the computer, but it significantly affects your rep.

If it is a cheat/exploit/human advantage/naughty deed you are not allowed to do it in GOTM's.

yeh but i didnt mean to cheat i thought that i would lose the gold per turn thing i just wanted my luxury back

I don' t believe this exploit is banned in the GOM yet though maple, as the gold digger, and worker packing wasn't disallowed in GOM8 but is now, it is just a matter of time before we see if it is banned though.
