M&ANES III: Reunion

    M&ANES Is currently being reborn! Stay tuned, it's gonna' be awesome!
    For those that has not participated in M&ANESes before, you guys should really check out M&ANES I and II.
    It is expected that you know just abit about how the game used to work before joining this, so check up on the old rules.

    Spoiler The Story :

    A long time has passed since the Aen, God of the Forbidden Flame, devastated the world and left the continent Inkita, and most of the world seas, covered in a mysterious mist.
    Feraldun, the continent that was the Ashlord's throne and location of the city Nokrath, lies in ruins once again.
    Though this time, it is neither scorched nor uninhabitable.
    The vegetation has taken back the once so beautyfull continent, and slowly, the forests are growing back, out of the burned earth.

    And with that, the Mercenaries and Asassins come out of hiding.
    They know, that soon the fight for power in the ruler-less land will start.
    And they will be needed once again.

    Factions rise once again, old linages re-emerge out of thin air, the age of reunion, has come.


    Spoiler The Rules :

    One thing that i have been working on while being away from CFC is RULES.
    I've learned alot about how to run forum games and roleplays, and i am going to put ALL my experiance to use.
    Let us begin...

    Spoiler First of All :

    Here's a list of rough changes that has been made to the M&A Rules and Playstyle:

    -Players will no longer be doing the same kind of "single player freelancing" they could in the old M&A games.
    I have learned that games like this works WAY better (pretty obvious actually), if the players stay in contact and interact with each other frequently.
    Therefore, i will try to keep players in a single group as much as possible.
    Please try to contribute to this.

    -Game time will no longer be defined by RL game time.
    It is defined by whatever i think it should be defined by.
    When i think it should be morning, it's morning. ETC.

    -There will be NO MORE ACTION POINTS.
    Your charecter can do whatever he wants.
    The game will be in "turns", abit like in DnD.
    Ofcourse everyone needs to sleep...


    Spoiler Combat, Actions Etc. :

    Combat and actions will work PARTLY like how it did in the old M&ANES:
    The player posts whatever his charecter does/attempts to do, and i post what happens.
    The new thing is that there's gonna be a HELL load of dices involved in this process.
    Just having me decide everything is kind of bleak, so we're gonna let randomness have it's part in the game.
    Here's an example of pretty much how it'l work:

    Seon Posts:
    Hadel jumps into the air, and stabs the orc in the belly while flying past it.

    I Post:
    DM: Mid-Air Attack: Roll (1d6): 5.
    Hadel inflects a deadly wound to the orc, leaving it lying on the ground.



    Spoiler The Crit Chart :

    If somebody rolls the highest possible number on a check or other dice rolls,
    a dice will be rolled on this chart to determine what happens.
    1: Extreme Success.
    Whatever the charecter was doing, he/she has extreme success with.
    2: Unexpected Success.
    The charecter has success with whatever he's doing, but not nessecarily in the way he/she hoped for.
    3: Good Stuff.
    Something good happens, like discovering a new spell or gaining a new feat.
    4: Extra Díce.
    An extra dice is rolled, which will be added to the previous roll result.
    The extra dice can also result in a crit, which will lead to another roll on this chart.
    5: Pwn.
    Something really awesome happens, like getting a Soul-Buff (When you get one you will know why this is awesome. beleive me.)
    or instantly killing a monster that is more than thrice as strong as you.
    6: Übarpwn.
    Like Pwn, just with abit more AWESOME.
    When Übarpwn is rolled, you might be saved by a angel, or maybe have a demon from the chaotic planes kill your opponent.
    Who knows? It's Übar.

    Warrior:
    Can be anything from a barbarian to a nimble dual-weapon specialist.
    Mage:
    Anyone that uses magic goes here.
    Ranger:
    Sneakers, lockpicks, archers, tamers of the wild: They all go here.

    Specialisation:
    Spoiler Specialisation :

    No matter what class you pick, you have to chose an "Element of Specialisation".
    This can be anything from "Water Magics" to "Mid-Air Asassinations", so just get thinking!
    Once the basics are done, i'l get working on Specialisation "Tech-Trees".

    Race:

    The races that have joined the Reunion so far are:
    Celestical:
    Generally they're humans with extra magical potential.
    Your typical paladin.
    Some celesticals have wings, allowing them to glide through the air and/or fly.
    Elf:
    Your typical DnD high or woodelf.
    Human:
    It's a human. Duh.
    Dark Elf:
    Your typical DnD elf with black skin. AKA: Drow.
    Half-Magmons:
    Half-Magmons are the last remnants of the Ashlord's army, though they no longer serve him.
    Generally they are humans, but with eventual mutations that turn their body into molten lava in various places.

    Describe your charecter's personality, how he looks, what's happened in his past ETC.




    Spoiler Stats :

    Now, here's one of the most essential part of the new gameplay: The Stats system.
    Instead of having your strengths and weaknesses stored in your head, we will now be having stats and the like in text.
    For instance, all of you get twenty stat points to put in these various pools upon charecter creation.
    Here's the stat list:
    Strength:
    Increases your charecter's strength, allowing him/her to carry more armour and use heavier weapons.
    Dexterity:
    Makes your charecter more agile, allowing him/her to move and run faster and gives him/her a higher chance of dodging.
    Will:
    Makes your charecter more strong willed, allowing him/her to resist other people's magic and to cast more advanced magic him/herself.
    So yeah, will generally defines how magically and mystically potent your charecter is.
    Cunning:
    This defines how smart and intelligent your charecter is.
    A high cunning level will grant great bonuses at things such as crafting and understanding technological concepts.

    ...and that's it. More sub-stats might be added later in the game, so stay tuned!
    NOTE: Things such as your charecter's charisma is ENTIRELY based on how well you roleplay him/her.
    NOTE: Do remember that you need to copy this to your charecter sheet and that you have 20 stat points to spend.
    NOTE: Do NOT copy the stat explanations onto your char sheet.

    Messun:
    Before the Ashlord Messun was the most wealthy and most powerfull country of Feraldun.
    The Broken Mountain is full of minerals, and the forests that once surrounded Nokrath were fruitfull.
    Though, the biggest source of it's wealth and power was the immense amount of Mercenaries that lived in Nokrath.
    They would defend their dear city if they had to, and no army could beat them once they stood together.
    Now, the areas around Nokrath are lavic plains, barren.
    And Nokrath itself lies in ruins, haunted by the spirits of the slain.

    Sura:
    Sura was, and is, a land that lives of it's trade.
    The great dessert wich it consists of has almost no valueable resources, and only one, great oasis.
    It's flying ships are though, of great renown, and they were exported to more then sixteen countries before Aen devastated the world.

    Gallun:
    Gallun is more commonly known as "The Elven Lands".
    It is said to be where they origin from, and all elves, no matter the skin color, are welcome in Elvaren, Gallun's capital.
    Schyfer though, is fiercely protected from everyone else than themselves by the high elves that live there and in the woods around the city.
    It was the only part of Feraldun that the Ashlord did NOT capture, and that still has some of the great, old forests.

    Lucca is a son of the owner of the successful millinery known as "Cuthbert's Millinery." Of course, they did not have any competition as all other millinery was destroyed when Aen took power. But then again there must have been a reason why they presevered when others were destroyed.

    His father suddenly disappeared 5 years ago, leaving Lucca and his twin brother Lante to fend for themselves. Lucca was, however,determined to find him (although arguably because he just wanted to explore), and left home after leaving Lante in charge of the shop.

    He always carries a heavy staff and hides a hunting knife inside his cloak.

    Description: Keder's childhood consisted of nothing but pain, sorrow, and hardships; his family was very poor living in the slums of the city. His father was an abusive drunk who beat him and his mother. One day his father came home drunker than usual and went into such a rage that he killed Keder's mother. He began to approach Keder presumably to do the same, but then a blank look came over him. He turned towards the window and plunged out of it to his death. The guards who later came to investigate the noise called it divine intervention but there was something about the look of Keder that made a few wonder. He was sent to an orphanage and almost immediately was tormented by the other children for his lanky frame and for how he ended up here. But soon those who tormented him began to see things at night, horrible things straight from their nightmares. After that no one ever bothered him again and even his caretakers began to feel uncomfortable around him. His stay here would not be long as a mage came to see if any of the children had any talents, he quickly noticed Keder and took him as his apprentice. Despite learning how to control his power his years of training did nothing to better his personality, he has value for human life and won't hesitate to remove anyone between him and his goal.

On the night Hawat left the manor, his father was ordered to stand in for the Duke's son in a duel, as the Duke's son was too drunk to fight the man he insulted. To no one's surprise, the servant was slain by the practiced swordsman. What did come as a surprise was that the Duke's son never woke from his drunken sleep that night, nor did the maid who shared his cup. By the time the alarm was raised, Hawat was well on his way to the city of Nokrath.

    World Events:
    Olren's Failed Summoning:
    The master summoner Olren screwed up a summoning ritual, resulting in a demon being unleashed upon the mortal plane.
    The demon, shortly after release, is said to have been banished somehow by a group of people that appeared pretty much instantly after the demon's appearance.
    No traces of battle or demonic curruption were though found at the site of the event.

    Nokrath's Bloom:
    The barren wastelands around Nokrath have suddenly started blooming again.
    Plants and trees are shooting up everywhere, growing with enormous speed.

    Shops and Merchants:
    The Smithing Union:
    The Smithing Union is a group of smiths that banded their trades together to make a higher income.
    Their shops are scattered around the town, and offer decent armour and weapons at low prices.
    Sumaeron Soem Eternum:
    The "Emporium of Secrets" sells all kinds of alchemy reagents, trinkets, books and even offers enchants.
    It is said to be owned by The Circle, but the shopkeeper, an elf that allways wears a blue hood, refuses to answer any questions on the subject.
    His knowledge in magic is undoubtable though.
    Eldritch Armory:
    Eldritch Armory is a shop offering armour and weapons of the elven craft.
    It also sells demonshards of various kinds, but is not the place to go if you're not willing to spend money.
    Nightsilk's Emporium of Nasty Things:
    Nightsilk is a renowned assassin that once worked for The Black Spectres.
    She specialised in anything that could inflict pain, and had various instruments originally designed for torture among her weapons.
    She now runs a shop in which it is possible to find weapons and tools of nastyness that surpasses the average asassin's imagination.
    Nightsilk is also familiar with pretty much any poison known to man, and for a little extra gold she will brew you poisens for any kind of situation.
    The Slayer's Guild:
    The Slayer's Guild is a group of people that, if you bring in proof of heroic deeds, such as the head of a warewolf or the talon of a dragon, will award you with weapons and armour of great power.
    It is also possible, if youre famous enough, to get Special Tasks from them which are said to be rewarded generously.
    Ranger's Friend:
    Ranger's Friend is a VERY old petshop that sells a large variety of pets, ranging from giant wolves to red dragons.
    The owner is said to be be a friend of the legendary druid Myrddyn.

    Factions:
    Clan Korckun:
    Clan Korckun is generally looked upon as the mightiest of the five clans.
    It welcomes people of any kind, and therefore has a strong, flexible and quite big army.
    Clan Seroleyus:
    Seroleyus is a clan led by Celesticals, but not a particularily holy one though.
    It specialises in assasinations of all thinkable kinds, which is alot.
    They welcome anyone that can kill a man without said man noticing.
    The Circle:
    The Circle is a clan of mages, led by the mystrious Pelantor Priest Lucas.
    Their goals are not commonly known, but rumor says that they are searching for the Staff of Arachia, an ancient artefact lost during the Sha'Tuqh wars.
    They welcome anyone that has knowledge in the magical arts or wishes to learn them.
    Clan Asten:
    Clan Asten is a clan based on two principles: Strength and Honor.
    Well, not really Honor, though. More like a pale shade of Demi-Honor.
    They welcome anyone that enjoys a good slaughter and would never dream of declining a challenge.
    The Black Spectres:
    The Black Spectres are an ancient organisation that existed back in the times before the Ashlord, who is said to have been a member himself.
    They specialise in intrigues, lies, espionage, betrayal and assasination.
    They welcome anyone that is capable of said things.

    My idea of the Celestical would be that they have wings that allow them to glide and to do short jumps into the air, but not doing sustained flight. At least that was my idea. Obviously based on the Angel chaps in that NES that never took off the ground.

    Hmm... change Dimensional to Planar, and know that in the lower levels you won't be able to do cross planar teleportations/summons.

    Apart from that it's cool :)

    Also, for all of you:
    I'm currently setting up the new stats system, and writing down the rules for how actions and combat will work. (I got a REALLY flexible system together! :D)
    When i'm finished with the stats system, you can continue with your charecters. :)
