I downloaded the demo earlier today. The game runs fine with DX11 and I've had no problems, but the graphics are poor and jumpy and it takes a long time between turns, kind of like late-game play on large maps back in Civ4. I'm running Win7 Ultimate x64 on a 15 inch macbook pro. The GPU is a GeForce 330M but there is also integrated intel graphics. I'm not sure how to tell which of these Civ is trying to use. I know in OSX the OS will automatically decide to switch if you're doing something graphics-intensive, but I don't know how this works in Windows.

Not sure if there's anything I can do about this but any insight would be much appreciated. In the meantime back to Civ! Been waiting on this day for a long time...

There might be a setting in the Bootcamp control panel for the video card. Poor and jumpy sure sound like Intel graphics. It also might insure that the real graphics card runs if you install the latest nVidia drivers, which is probably a good idea anyway.

I updated the drivers, that seemed to do the trick. Thanks! I haven't checked the Boot Camp settings but I'll do that too
