I assume you mean a utility that allows you to edit the game file to give you more gold or infinite resources or whatever?

The answer is no, not for the Mac. You could try running something like that in Windows using Parallels or VMWare Fusion on an Intel Mac, or Virtual PC on your PowerPC, I guess, but the effort required seems to me to be disproportionate.

The game has several levels of difficulty starting at Warlord, and it's pretty easy to beat the AI at Warlord level. Using a "trainer" to give yourself even more advantages seems unnecessary to me.

i'm sure i'd be fine. i was just wondering to help myself get used to the game again and then get rid of it. like TRAINING WHEELS. haha. but i'll manage. thanks :)

Good luck :-)

Have a look at the Tutorial mode in Civ3 - that gives you hints during the early game to get you back into it. If you want to get enthusiastic, check out some of the Strategy articles. Cracker's classic Improving your Opening Play Sequences is good, and there some other good ones on on Settler factories, city placement, military and trading strategies etc.
