MacBook pro and Colonization

I just bought a Macbook Pro and I am going to order Colonization. This is my first Mac and I wonder how playing civ will be on it. I have played all the other civs on a pc.

I read you need a patch for Col. Is there place that I can order a Mac patch from?

Does the game look as nice as those on a PC?
