Ok, I have played through several more RPCs since the last poll, so I though it worthwhile starting another Poll. I have played through 16 leaders and I am putting the finished games into the poll. Example, I played Shaka twice but only consider the second game please.

This is done for fun, but also is some feedback on which type of games people preferred and liked. Also which games were actually well played by myself. These took alot of time to post, and reading teh comments and polls are entertaining for myself.

Also. give me a minute to open another post to reserve it for listing summaries of the games!!!!

The Mighty Khan:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=244372
Where we got a conquest win pre-gunpowder by razing 50 AI cities, and keeping those few that were worthy. A fine example of how to keep the economy afloat while razing all captured AI cities. A RCE (Razed City Economy!)

Seafaring Victoria:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=247553
Where we used a strict trade route economy to get a spaceship victory. No cottages were built and specialists we limited to our GP farm.

Chivalrous Washington: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=250780
Where we attempted to get a UN diplomatic victory while defending the honor of 5 charming if deadly ladies while fighting off 3 dastardly male rivals. Ended in a draw as we built the UN but could never obtain the UN votes. OLd GW is one lucky guy!

Bismark the Master Builder: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showth...65#post6181665
Where we used a wonderspam/settled GP game to claim all world wonder via the blacksmith's hammer or the General's sword. UN Diplomatic Victory

The Reincarnation of HOLY SAL!: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=253986
Where we reincarnated Saladin and obtained a cultural victory using a religion based economy. We never declared war, never sent troops outside our cultural borders, played a outstanding diplomatic game, and founded 6 religions with 6 shrines. We also never ran a single artist specialist, nor did we ever get a Great Artist.

MONTY the Mad Scientist:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=255074
Where we ran a strict SE using only scientists until we got Biology, never building cottages and razing all those captured from the AI. We won a domination will destroying all civilization except the Mayans who finally capitulated to us.

Willem, King of the Sea: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=256516 Where we started off isolated on an archeopilego map with high sea levels in one of the worse starts I have ever seen. We achieved a UN diplomatic win after getting very near to a domination win. Interesting notes are getting optics by 120BC and astronomy before Construction!!

Peter Spy Extraordinaire: Part I http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=257510 and II http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=257858. Where we played two EE games: The first ending in defeat from the Massive Zulu army after we feel far behind in tech from too early an EE, and the second we were in an unwinable situation (even though we did build the UN) because our early land was limited and our diplomacy plan caved in.

Persians in Space: Cyrus' Vision: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showth...65#post6389765 . Where we played a strict CE game with a semi-isolated start. Only cottages and early mines allowed besides normal resoruces. Launched a Space Ship win in the early 1960's while Frederick gave us a run for our monet as he attempted a cultural win.

Shaka, A Gentleman of Culture II : http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=260777 Where we got a cultural victory after defeating Napoela and Tokugawa by 1300BC. We got the cultural victory with Ulundi, Paris, and Kyoto using only wonders, artists, and great artists.

Asoka and the Doomsday Machine: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=261546 Where we started on a Pangea map with assorted agressive/bully AIs with the Agressive AI setting on. We won a domination victory after founding and spreading Buddhism with the help of the Doomsday Weapon (A modern Armored Tank) a gift of the gods!!

The Glory or Rome: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=262883 Where we played a One City Challenge (OCC) and won a diplomatic win playing as Agustus.

Tokugawa the Isolationist: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=263705 Where we started off Isolated and refused to open borders or trade resources once we met the world and tried for a space race win. Ended in a loss as Pericles became a land/power/tech monster and declared war on us late.

Alexander, Greek God of War III: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=265800 Where we got a Conquest victory in 1826 on a Pangea map showing the world just how BAD Big Al really is! Some nice diplomcy in getting the world to be in a constant state of warfare, as only a God of War can!

Pericles, Greek God of Peace: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=267261 Where we got a cultural victory after building 6 cities and established world peace, at the expense of an aggressive Tokugawa our next door neighbor.

Chairman Mao's Revised Plan: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=268640 We got a space win after following the 4 tenants of Maoism: Atheism, Population, State Property, and Espionge. A true example of a great espionage game, stealing assorted techs from meditation through ecology, with the classy act of disbanding an unexpected late game Great Prophet.

I liked The Glory of Rome the best, it was interesting to see your take on a kind of game I play a lot (OCC, and I often play them as Augustus Caesar) plus I loved that last minute win!

I'd say Mao's plan was second, very well played.

Can you try your next espionage economy with a leader other than Genghis? Can you try it with a Philosophical leader just so we can see how much you can abuse GreatSpies :) I suggest Ghandi, because the UB fits well with espionage economy. If you want a better warmonger, try Suleiman.

Shaka was my favourite. Mao is pretty entertaining as well. I had no internet access for 3 months so missed quite a few games however.

VM, not sure a Philosophical leader would would really excel here as they can frequently be tops in research anyway with all the early Great scientists. Suliman is an interesting match though since Imperialistic goes very well with the Great Wall Wonder. I suppose I could force the issue by limited specialists to scientists, but again it becomes another RPC type game.

I still like Ghengis as a prime example of using the Settle Great Spy technique since he probably has the absolute worse economic civilization (the UB is a military one).

Perhaps I will play both and post them as walkthoughs in the articles I wrote.

First congrats on the latest win :goodjob:

I voted for Asoka just loved the early Doomsday Machine

Lastly I really like reading your games (what else is there to do at work :)) and really appreciate the time you spend on them. After a long time lurking I thought I would be a bit more active in the forums. Having posted a few write ups with screenshots I realise how long and how much work it takes to post these.

So a final :goodjob: and keep up the good work.

Wow!!! Chairman Mao sems to have stolen the trophey so far!!!! Can't say I blame everyone.

These games are sort of like mini-stories to me. My 14 yo daughter writes stories about knight's/dragons and so forth, my wife writes medical papers, the 12 yo sings, as I post away these games. Much to the families delight, or at least my wife's entertainment. MY daughter's seam to think I war way to much although I try to explain to them the reality of it all. Still, they are kid's and get alot of laugh's from the posts at home!

But what I was getting to, instead of voting I'll describe what I think of these.

LEAST LIKELY WIN: Gotta be The Glory of Rome. I still don't know how I managed to win that game! Willem's game is second here.

BEST CONTROLLED GAME: AS I said last survey, Bismark was the one RPC I actually felt in complete control of. There was never a doubt about the German.

MOST ENJOYABLE: Gotta be old Monty. As you probably noticed, he was the game I really got into the character. Running a pure SE, pillaging every damned cottage I capruted, niking the hell out of Cyrus, just great stuff. The Mighty Khan was also up there, and he is still my favored leader to play.

MOST EDUCATIONAL: Gotta be the moest recent. I think Mao showed very nicely how to run an espionage economy. I also liked how Victoria turned out, and again the successful MONTY SE game. I wanted more out of the Cyrus game, but the land sort of restricted the CE showcase (Gotta do something more for CE later). While the Bismark game was well played, it still pale's compared with Obsolete's walkthroughs.

BEST DIPLOMATIC GAME: Gotta be HOLY SAL! I doesn't get any better than using the game Pacifist (Gandhi) as a human SHield against zealot Monty and Isabella!. Mao and Pericles are honorable mention here.

BIGGEST CHEAT: Gotta be Asoka and his early Tank. Sure it was needed to defend aggaunst those thugs, but man did we abuse it!!! Come on, we have all wanted to play that style game!

CLASSIEST GAME: Hell, Shaka wiping out 2 AIs and using the captured capitals for a culture win! Damn that's class and style. Mao's killing of the Great Prophet is certainly worth a mention here.

BEST IDEA: Gotta be Shaka again, although Washington and his women certainly qualify here. I mean the game' best war-monger hunkering down to peace and culture, watching TV at the end with an idiotic Aztec!

BIGGEST MISTAKE: Al I, always war just doesn't make a very entertaining game. Maybe to play for a while, but certainly not to post in any cohesive manner.

BEST WAR-MONGER: Gotta be AL. Kahn was great, but AL also got the entire world at war with each other. And dammed an artillery rush, what an idea!!!

WORSE GAME PLAYED: There are certainly several here, most I replayed. I gotta say Peter I was pretty bad. Peter II was better but still pretty bad. And of course the Toku game was a big disappontment because it had so much potential.

MOST BORING: Again Tokugawa. Limited war and trading just doesn't seam right. Deserved to be played, but was the most tedious.

But.....

BEST OF ALL, as far as entertainment, action, strategy, idea, and following the RPC spirit. Gotta be Chairman Mao. And a surprise, never thought we would get such an entertaining game from this idea!!!!

Again, thanks to all for following, and reading my stroll down memory lane!!!

It was a tough call in the end but my vote went for Asoka, I loved the idea of starting with a mondern armour at 4000BC! Plus for me this was classic MadScientist, start out with the best intentions and then the game goes to hell and it became a bloodbath! ;)

The Mao game was probably your best RPC to date tho, entertaining, educational and you've finally put to rest those nightmares of Peters games.

Thanks for takin the time to do these games :)

Mao was simply golden with the incredible spying going on. Loved it. So many good RPC's out but this one takes the cake for me. Willems game was also very enjoyable.

firstly well done on winning the Mao game, it was definitely entertaining
but my vote goes for rome, with asoka a close second
