Main forum snow consumes CPU

Interesting -- the snow on the main forum page consumes significant CPU. My firefox was taking something like 50% on a continuous basis. Turns out it was because I keep a main forum tab open so I can use open link in tab to get separate tabs for several forums. As soon as I navigated that root tab to somewhere else, the cpu usage went away.

Now that you mention it, I just checked my CPU usage and it is ~10% for the snow.

I believe the snow using javascript so it runs on the client side rather than the server side. Can't say I've noticed a difference though.

Mine's about 25%.

Yeah, the snow uses JavaScript and calculations are done to compute the coordinates. It's one reason I only put it on forum homepage, instead of all pages.
