Anybody know how to change the Opening/Main Menu graphic? For example say if I wanted to get rid of the BTS menu screen (the one with the building and the birds flying over the distance) and instead use either the Vanilla screen, Warlords, or maybe some opening main menu screen that's used in someone's mod.

Anyone know how to do that for a new mod? I could use instructions.

I think the file is:

Assets\Art\Interface\Main Menu\Beyond_The_Sword_Main_Menu.dds

I don't have time to post instructions now but I will help you later if you still need it.

Yeah I guessed that was the file that was loading the screen, but what file do I replace it with and how? There also seems to be other files with in the same folder that appear they might have something to do with the main menu (since it's animated).

I tried to take the Vanilla Main Menu art interface files and drop it into my MOD folder (keeping the same directory but within the Mod), but I still got the BTS menu screen. There also seems to be a "classical" main menu directory too. I checked the XML's and there is a listing for all 4, and they each have the exact same .bik file name for the main menu.

Thank you for you help. I'm gonna need it. :)

There is an easy way to switch between the included screens. Either an in game option or a quick XML fix, I can't remember what it is right now, and I have to run. Search around, or hopefully someone will post it.

I changed the main menu in my mod some time ago, so I'm going on memory here, but this should be right.

The file that contains information about the the main menu and loading screens is called XML\Art\CIV4MainMenus.xml. Many of the entries for this file are defined in XML\Art\CIV4ArtDefines_Interface.xml. The ArtDefines_Interface file is where you can change the name and path of the .nif file used. The rest is just a matter of creating a .nif file that works for you. If I remember correctly it has to be 1024 x 1024 pixels in size. I know almost nothing about creating graphic files, but I managed to get one to work, so it can't be that difficult.

i am also interested in this. i want to put a picture (something i could make in photoshop) as a background and add my own music.
