Major grin factor modification

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK peeps, here's my two cents....

Throughout human history, IMHO, the motivation of progress, the drive for conquest etc. has been driven, not alone but unclusively, by one but the lowest yet most essential and basic human needs. Yes, you, sir at the back... Sex!

Therefore i would like to see the addition of a minor city improvement, kinda like the 'Police station' which would, of course, be similar to 'The Joy Division'. Since i think there is still a trademark involved with the name, i presume legal implications will have to be avoided by renaiming the afforementioned concept to something 'politically correct'. I would, therefore, suggest that such an improvement be named 'The 3 barrels and a stocking whiz bang bang' (add as many 'bangs' as you wish, in fact i think the name should be customizable).

May i also suggest the inclusion of a mobile 'whiz bang' unit, one that will be moving along with the troops to provide high morale for the upcoming battle.

Needless to say, the quality of graphics for the representation of the unit must be of a highly stimulating nature thus promoting gameplay.

Ha! One could take the enemy out single handedly... Literaly! LOL

Ideas?

...No.

It isn't necessary, and is just a bit... lewd. It doesn't mix with civilization.

I don't think they should mix. If you want a great game, get civ. If you want porn, get porn. No need to mingle.

Maybe not sex, but I enjoyed many console strategy games in which producing and heir to the throne and marrying for political purposes was an essential key to victory.

It would also solve the "Abe Lincoln, born 4000 B.C. Retired, (but still not dead) 2020 A.D.

I agree, and I hope there isn't a thread for this already, but I would rather like to see a succession of rulers over time. For instance, in 100 AD is the ruler Caesar of Rome, but he is assasinated for the new ruler, Antony, under the same form of government. Nothing changes except the name in the diplomacy box; the same goes for the AIs. Although I do get a little attached to the names of the rulers in a game.

Sir, no offence intended, but 3 words, "Increase your medication" :D Sorry I had to do that...

I think that it would be important for realism, but you can't expect Firaxis to do something that would be highly politically controversial, and quite probably hurt sales due to objections from prudish parents.

@ ongwin

Good call, man !!!

@ PepeLePuke and? Milan's Warrioir

How old are you guys ? Sure, you might be right about the fact that sex has motivated and still is motivating the warrirors. But I think that the most part of it is just to say : "I'm the strongest and you're weak ?". Or any superiority complexe that you can think of.

Then what's the point? I've never understood why anyone would want to introduce succession into this game. Considering the thousands of years it spans, it would be impractical (to use an understatement) to try to have leaders grow old and die.

I could see possibly introducing such a feature for scenarios, but even then, there'd have to be a really good reason for needing it. And the result would have to be more substantial than just changing a name, or it would be pointless.

As for the topic of the thread itself . . . uh . . . yeah. I can only hope this is a joke. There are already plenty of sex games out there. We sure as hell don't need to turn Civ into one. Especially since minors make up a significant percentage of the Civ-playing populace, I have to say it would be marketing suicide for Firaxis to make Civ IV into a game needing a "Mature Audiences Only" warning label.

Why not just have a Burlesque House city improvment? Makes one unhappy citizen content and/or one content citizen happy.

Or it could be a small wonder, so there isnt rampant use. Perhaps it could make 3 citizens happy in the city its built, no matter what. And perhaps the closest city would have 2 citizens just content instead of happy, because they dont get the Burlesque House.

It could become available with a Tech "Sexual Revolution"
After sexual revolution becomes a dead end tech "Contraception"

You may have epidemics of STDs.

Ha.

I actually think it is poetic, love and battle hand in hand.

I am always open to suggestions :)

And, please dear Firaxis, can i be the Madam in one of those?

I believe you are on the wrong forums. Your insights would be more thoroughly appreciated on the NAMBLA forums

When people talk about realism in Civ they should realise that this "realism" will always be confined to school history books.Sex has is Civ the same place as in those books. NONE.
We can all take part in polls like "Who Is the hottest babe of the leaderheads?" or is succession games with a "protecting the ladies Variant" but as soon as somebody makes a semi serious proposal about something that was a historical reality-e.g.that peoples mind(and especially in the army) is occupied by thoughts of intercourse most of the time-we either start moralising,or try to laugh it out, or show concern for the commercial prospects of Firaxis.
The fact that this proposal is verging on spam does not absolve the rest of us of being childish. I've seen more serious conversations in this forums about "the defense statistics of the UU Mogra, King of radioactive monkeys" for ****'s sake. ;)

Moderator Action: This kind of topic has no place on this forum (or even the Civ series for that matter -- Firaxis and Atari want to keep it rated E at best). PepeLePuke, consider this a warning. Thread closed.
