Alright, I've been starting to attempt modding just recently, following that Kael's guide as many, but I got a question:

As soon as I changed the Leader to a new Leader, the custom civilization suddenly didn't have specific music ingame (other than the title music), so I'm guessing that each Civ's music (and not only on the diplomacy screen, but in all the game) depends of the Leader... however, I can't simply find a way for getting the custom leader use, say, Hiawatta's music...

So... Is there any known way for achieving this? Thanks in advance...

Have him replace, for instance, Hiawatha. It's the only way.

Hmm... that's... quite bad really...

So, I suppose that the AudioDefines are specifically hardcoded to each leader, rather than each leather xml calling the audiodefines, right?

Alright, thanks for answering then.

For all we know it could be magic. They haven't pulled the curtain back on all that yet.

Can't you just use "<SoundtrackTag>Sweden</SoundtrackTag>" in the civilization gamedata? I like the Sweden music, so that's what I use for all my custom civs and it seems to work...

I know one of the other civs I downloaded used the music for Songhai...

It seems to do the trick... Of course, there's still the problem of not being able to changing Leader music... but that can wait... Thanks

Well hell, I didn't know that's what you were asking. Sorry!

Don't worry, my fault for not being clear, and of course, you still said something important, so thank you.

From what I've read till now about music, which isn't much I admit, it seems that the underlying methodology parallels Civ4, where the names of the files are sacrosanct but not the content, which can be changed.

Why not have a look at that Civ iteration and see if there are methods that can be ported over?

Hey everyone! I know this thread is old as... I don't know, a really old thing... But I have found out something interesting...

I have found a way of giving a custom Leader existant music without replacing any leader! Its very funny really, check the details here.

The sad thing is that its not completelly modular, but it doesn't affect at all to leave the modifications in the core files. One can also use music that isn't from leaders, like other ingame music.
