The following appeared as a notification message: "Florence and has a new ally." In the notification log, it appears correctly as "India has replaced Songhai as the Ally of Florence."
I wasn't quick enough with the screen capture, unfortunately, so I don't have graphical evidence, but I've attached an autosave from 8 turns prior. Perhaps it'll happen the same way again if replayed. (It happened in turn 108 originally.)
