I was only replying to your previous post....

....and Alex wasn't on the list. :)

My dear friend, that list was made BEFORE you send me Exsanguination's map !!!!;)

I will send you something soon for you to have a look at it.

BTW did you like my grenadier ?

An additional challenge!
How about whatever map you work on, you make it fair for a certain (stated) number of players for multiplayer!

To be accurate and still fair.... hmmmm

Thanks.

agree. less hills in turkey and iraq. depending of the start date, you might want to add more forests to greece. And there is some weird ocean in the caspian sea?
This map could be a good base for a scenario with Byzantium, the arabs and Khazaria. :)

....or the Mithridatic Wars of the 1st century BC between Rome and Pontus (another scenario idea buzzing around in my head while I cut-'n-paste for Alexander) :)

I believe that the central part of modern day Turkey is a large flat rolling plateau....perhaps plains surrounded by hills/mountains?

BTW Loulong.....I love your Grenadier.

Thanks for the

OK for the hills. In my Magna Grecia map I used mixed hills/plains, thought of trying something slightly different here with mostly hills with plains/grasslands walleys as corridors but I am gonna make it "more plains". Anyway for a Seldjukid scenario, they would be really embrassed with their horses on such a hilly terrain.

It can be used for different scenarios alright (it seems everybody has an idea :) ). Mine was Krimean war using Cossack (Civ3), French riflemen and English troops (Nemesis Rex). Need to wait for Conquests though.
But I think it covers too much for Mithridatic wars. Not much space for Pergamum either.

Thought I could put the France preview today as well but it seems it will be for tomorrow.

Second preview. Basically I think I will stick to that.

I have put a lot of plains inside the hilly frontier around central Turkey, as well as scattered more of them along the Euphrates and Tigris. Added some mountains and forests and corrected ocean pb too.

I have kept lots of hills in the most mountaineous areas (from Caucase to Zagros (East) and Taurus (West)).

About France, have just realized I made a big mistake in the size (I could not understand why it did not work out before) so it is definitely postponed (have to do it again). Kryten, your map is now my TOP priority.

Here's about the region I'm talking about. Maybe a little further south, but not much more. If you need more space to get the dimensions right, feel free to expand in either direction, east and west.

What do you think of that (this is a base I can work on (size, ...) but tell me if you want more of an area in some places (or cities).

Do you want me to add (later of course) natural resources too (accurate but modern ones); you can modify them later to fit your needs.

if you are going to have a part of Korea in the map, I suggest you have the whole pensula, that way you have less cities build next to the map border.

I dont think it would hurt to include Korea, it would be the outsider civ in the game(proberly fun to play), also you would get awfully lot of the mountains to the east if you does´nt include Korea.
