Map Grid: On or Off?

Do you play with the grid on or off?

  • Always ON. I can't tell where anything is, otherwise.

  • Mostly On. I turn it off occasionally, for screenshots, or whatever.

  • Mostly Off. I turn it on occasionally to check things.

  • Always OFF. Those criss-crossing lines distract me.

  • You can toggle the grid lines On/Off?

Almost always off. I CTRL+G when I need to check something, like city placement or unit moves, then quickly CTRL+G right back off when I'm done.

I still miss being able to CTRL+SHIFT+G from SMAC to turn the city radius squares off (culture radius now).

Voted: off but sometimes i turn it on when i want to check the right position for new-made town!
And certainly when i edit some new maps also - on.

In Civ 2 (at least I think it was Civ 2) I left them on to see the city radius to make it easier to see which squares to work, but that's not in CivIII (at least I don't think it is) So I just leave them off

"On" all the time for me

The map grid is "on" in the initial rapid expansion phase so I can see where my cities ought to go. After that I turn it "off". Simply because the map looks much nicer without the grid lines. :)

I turn it on when I want to make sure how far away my next city needs to be placed, but other than that I leave it off. I dont have any problems counting squares with it off really, it just makes it easier.

Mostly on. Helps a lot with city placement control and unit movements.

May 13, 2003, eh?

Oh well, I can't say anything given that I said that Padma should have used an old topic rather than make a new one...

Always off.
