So, now we have our map of the country we will soon have a name for:

Google Earth File: The zip file is located here. The .kmz file for Google Earth is inside.

However, one of the first things about this map is that is is rather bland. So, we should use this thread to fix that. Seeing that regionalism proposal #3 passed, we need to figure out the following:
1. Where the four regions will be made.
2. Where MPs will go, thus creating where cities and towns are.

I offer this thread as a discussion area.

Also, I offer to take care of map edits for cities also.

One thing I think we should do is set up a deadline on when MPs can actually add cities/towns (I suggest one the first day of the PMs term) that way we won't be adding new towns while simulating.

That's a good idea. I support that.

EDIT: OK, I've added a town myself:

...and I am an MP of Portsborough.

Berkshire would actually be the name of the entire country/district. The City of Berkshire itself would be a port city with the best natural harbor in the country. The outlaying areas would be full of farming villages with suburban areas in between. It would also seem that due to the size of the harbor, that it would be a natural location to be the primary naval base of the nation, with supporting air force and marine bases. Other important industries would be located close to the harbor.

I would be an MP of Berkshire.

The City of North Shore (commonly known as The Shore) lies at the major ferry point between Cook Island and mainland Civilitas. Boasting a population of 200,000 and covering a significant proportion of Cook Island (close to Portsborough and Rodney in the north), North Shore City has four electorates within its city borders.

The North Shore electorate represents the main city centre (i.e. Glencoe town) and a few surrounding suburbs (Milford, Birkenhead and Davenport). Politically, North Shore City has been the seat of the centrist Common Sense party although a recent shock result saw an Independent MP, The Honourable Mr. Benjamin Hawkwood take the electorate amidst dissastisfaction with the previous Common Sense MP.

I'll take care of editing the map tomorrow. I'll also propose some region boundaries...

Hold up, those are all English names, we live in the North Pacific. The names should be Russian names since they were the ones who explored that area.

We don't even have a history, but regardless, I think that we should not require Russian or any other names particular to a language or ethnicity. There are many areas of the Pacific that were explored and settled by white people and as far as I am concerned, I am NOT going to act as an ethnic Russian politician. That just goes too far out of the bounds of reality, for me.

EDIT: Also, it should be pointed out that Alaska was explored by the Russians as well, but the people who live there now are Americans (we bought it). I don't think that it is a stretch to say that there was a small number of Russians living on this island, but that settlers from other areas of the world poured in and declared independence...say...during the Russian Revolution, when Russia was too busy to care. The United States offered us protection and we therefor became the Republic of _________.

I went ahead and edited anyway...

About Russian stuff: We can always pretend that we're white people that colonized the place... maybe we're a British Colony, or American... point is, the history is unknown, so it shouldn't matter too much.

What's the geography/topography of our nation? Do we have mountains/jungle/etc. in the middle, is the coast the only viable living option?

That's something else this thread can be used to discuss about. I would think we should have mountains in the middle, but that can be debated.

I could offer up some islander names.

Just use this as the northernmost (forgotten) bit of Polynesia.

If we do, I take dibs on Te Awamutu! Or Whakarewarewa (Wh is pronounced F in Maori - and whakarewarewa is a real place, full name is Whakarewarewatangaoteopetauaawahiao).

Wow, my regional proposal actually won. Well I would like to join Splime's city, Portsborough. We should try to set up a Socialist Metropolis.

I can understand that but the current names are so British that it isn't even funny.

I would like to go in 'Karmel' right on the inside of the southern bay.

(we need variety in names. So I chose a different one)

Well, if we all get to choose names then okay, put me in Gavan Gluboko, off to the west on the northern half of the main island.
