I would have done this myself but for some reason when I do oceans and stuff in the worldbuilder they look like crap....
Anyways thought this would be a way cool idea for CivIV, there was a map that I used to play on Age of Mythology (don't remember the name), but it was basically a solid ocean map but there was one GIANT landmass in the middle with tons of resources and stuff, but you don't start there. You start on a small little island with room for 1 city, and have to advance to get to the big island (which is where the premium real estate is).
I thought this would be cool because you have one mediocre city, and have to rush to the big island and make your claim there. Whoever gets to the island first of course is at a huge advantage. I thought this might increase the amount of naval battles that occured throughout the game. You could do this map starting on Ancient...but it would be quite some time before astronomy so you would probably want to start at renaissance or later...
Anyone able to do this for me? or have a good editing program so my oceans don't look like crap? Thanks!
