Mapfinder, Steam, and... WTH?

Okay, haven't played in a long while. Redownloaded over steam, installed buffy and mapfinder, got everything set up correctly (or it should be), and let mapfinder run. Then I look at my mapfinder screenshots, and they all look like this.

try running CIV in window mode. there is a setting you need to change from 0 to 1 in the main CIV INI file (something to the effect of "fullscreen vs. window"). Setting it to 1 will prompt you for either when you run civ. this is a known problem
